We lost Mickey!

Well last night didn't exactly go as planned. I had envisioned sleep like this:
Instead, this is more like what my sleep looked like:
On the bright side, I got to catch up on Flying Wild Alasaka! It was actually better than I imagined.

Michael and I got up this morning and went to breakfast at the Huddle House before we went to get Julia. After being lazy around the house for a little while we decided to go down to Destin for the afternoon/evening. We hit up Bed, Bath, and Beyond and finally got some curtains for our bedroom. We've only been in our house 2 years! While we were there Julia picked out a beach chair that was just her size!
We went to a new area in Destin called HarbourWalk Village to walk around and eat dinner. It's so strange because right now is the "season" in South Florida where we lived, but in North Florida this is definitely the "off season". The place was kinda dead, but I can see it being a really fun place to hang out in the summer. We did get some good food at The Crazy Lobster though. Julia liked our calamari appetizer and Mom and I had crabcakes while Michael had boiled shrimp, it was all good!
Yummy calamari!
After dinner we headed over to Destin Commons to do a little shopping. Apparently Julia enjoyed Michael's choice of music because she was bobbing her head and waving her hands in the air. So precious!
Unfortunately while we were shopping we lost something very important, Mickey Mouse! Julia had him when we were walking around and apparently dropped him/threw him out somewhere. I didn't realize he was missing until we got in the truck and were on our way home. I was trying to get her settled in hopes that she would fall asleep, when I realized we couldn't find him. We went back and searched our path but couldn't find him and he hadn't been turned in to lost and found. I'm going to call tomorrow in hopes that someone with a heart has turned him in!

TGIF!

It's finally Friday! I think the week after Christmas is the hardest week of the year for teachers, at least for me. Today was Michael's Friday off so he went to Dothan to return some things and came home with a new truck! Instead of truck shopping Julia and I came home and played with her toys.
Resting in her baby doll's stroller
Practicing her animal sounds with her zoo!
When we were sitting down to dinner tonight Julia fell out of her chair. She hit her forehead straight on the floor. She's going to have a nice little bruise there in a few days!

Mom and Blake stopped by after dinner tonight. Julia decided she wanted to go home with them and since Julia hasn't been sleeping good lately(I hope just because she's had a cold) and I'm feeling worse today than I did yesterday, I didn't hesitate!
Ready to spend the night with MomAnnette & Uncle Blake
Ready to go with her jammies and backpack on and her sippy cup and Mickey Mouse!
"Would y'all please stop talking so we can go!"

I hope she sleeps good for them tonight, I am taking advantage of an early bed time with no "baby duty"!

Sick Girls

Julia and I are both feeling crummy today so we stayed home in bed. We watched lots of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse this morning. :)

I took Julia to the doctor at 1:20. She's had her stuffy/runny nose for a while now, but has developed a cough to go along with it this week. Dr. Whitaker said her lungs, throat, and ears all looked fine but gave her a round of antibiotics to try to clear up the congestion. Since it's the second time we've had to do that this "season" he mentioned the possibility of having to take her adnoids out if she needs an antibiotic for the same symptoms again in the near future. On another note, she weighed 30 pounds, 1 ounce today!

After we got back from the doctor I had high hopes of napping, but Julia had other plans. We laid down in my bed and both went to sleep, but when I woke up about 45 minutes later Julia had crawled out of bed and was sitting in her chair at the foot of the bed watching Mickey Mouse! So instead of napping, we talked on the phone...
and loved on her baby doll...
and did the hokey pokey with Elmo.
While I would have loved to take a nap this afternoon, I had fun playing with my baby girl!

Tater!

Julia spent the day with Sarah and GranDi today. She had lots of fun, but she didn't nap. GranDi had to go out to the office this afternoon so I picked Julia up there after school. She didn't even make it to the four lane before she was out!
When we got home she wandered around a little bit and played with her toys some before she crawled up in my lap and went back to sleep. I love how she went to sleep holding her Cinderella pez dispenser. :)
Since Michael taught her how to give taters ehe loves to give them. Tonight she kept trying to give Nelli and Caddy taters at dinner. She put her hand down to Caddy and laughed so loud when he tried to jump up and bump it, I think Caddy was hoping there was food in her hand! She's such a silly girl!

Lazy Girls

Julia and I are both feeling a little under the weather today and since tonight was Michael's "visiting night", Julia and I were lazy! We took a nap when we got home, watched some Mickey Mouse and ate dinner in bed, and drifted in and out of sleep until Michael got home about 8:30 and then we were out for good! I sure hope we feel better tomorrow!

Happy Birthday, Nana!

Happy new year and happy birthday Nana! We started the day off with church and nursery duty. I got play in Julia's classroom while Michael went to "big church".
Sweet Miss Kallie
Julia is rarely still enough for me to get a nonblurry photo on my iPhone!
Hunter man! Today was the first time I had seen Hunter since he got his leg braces. He pulled himself up and climbed up in my lap and was standing looking over the back of the chair. Julia kept staying "No Hunter
and "Sit down Hunter, sit down". She wasn't very fond of him playing in my lap!

After lunch we went over to Nana and Pop's for Nana's birthday dinner. Julia's favorite part was the cake, of course. She kept stealing tastes of frosting while we were trying to get the candles on and lit!

Julia loved helping Nana open her presents. We had to move them off the floor and onto the mantle before lunch so she wouldn't open them before Nana could! Every present they opened she said "wow".

We went to La Bamba for dinner tonight and this little girl was in a good mood! I'm so sad I have to go back to work tomorrow instead of spending all day with her!
Before I put up our last Christmas decoration, Julia's Christmas tree, I wanted to record her saying some "Christmas" words to have for memories. Here she is talking to me about all things Christmas!

Happy New Year!

We started off our New Years Eve with lunch at Mellow Mushroom. We sat at a booth so Julia sat in the booth with us, or at least she was supposed to. The tables are so high that she spent most of the time walking underneath the table from me to Michael and back again. It was one of those lunches where I think "we're not going out to eat again until she's 16!".
After lunch we came home and watched a little Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while I finished cleaning out my closet. Julia liked sitting in the empty boxes, they were just her size!
Julia's "ugly face"
Tonight we went over to Amber and Jesse's to watch the Auburn game. Tucker and Julia had a blast playing together and Auburn pulled out a victory against Virginia in the Chik-Fil-A Bowl.

At halftime Julia took Tucker for a ride in his Jeep. They were both having a blast until the neighbors started shooting fireworks, then they ran to the door!
Julia ready to go inside!
Anber had a lap full of rotten! They sure were enjoying their Capri Sun's though!
When we left Amber & Jesse's, Michael's friend Chris had called and wanted us to stop by for a few minutes. It was on our way home so I told Michael that if Julia was still awake when we got to the turn that we could stop for a few minutes. They were shooting lots of big fireworks too, so Julia and I stayed inside most of the time. She did like watching them through the door, she just didn't like the loud noise they made.
watching the fireworks
We made it home before midnight and Julia was STILL awake so she rang in her first New Year! We watched the Moon Pie drop in Mobile and are heading to bed. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I wish this wasn't such a crummy iPhone picture.
