Sunday Funday

The girls woke up to a note from the elves that told them that Santa said they better mind! I guess Santa's seen them not minding lately!

Rosemary had some tummy time under the tree this morning. She and I stayed home from church this morning since she's still battling RSV.
After lunch Michael and I took the older girls to see The Star.  They loved it and it I loved that it told the true story of Christmas.
After the movie I took Charlotte to Wal-Mart to pick out Christmas presents for Julia and Rosemary. That's probably my favorite thing I do each Christmas. They're both so intentional about what they get for each other.
And just because this was so sweet tonight!

When your 6 year old touches the efl...

Today was not a good "elf" day for Julia. The girls got this note from Tinsel and Jingle this morning and then Julia accidentally touched Tinsel this afternoon.  It was a rough elf day around here!

Candyland Christmas

Today we continued celebrating our Christmas vacation by going to Candyland Christmas in Andalusia. We've been talking about going all month but haven't been able to get over there until today. They have little gingerbread houses that local business sponsor and decorate. They also had train rides and the girls favorite, an "ice" skating rink. It wasn't actually ice, but some kind of material that snapped together. They did wear ice skates and skate on it like real ice though. The girls had a blast and actually did much better skating than I anticipated. They didn't want to leave!

And, just for documentation purpose, Tinsel & Jingle were hanging from the ceiling fan this morning!

Deck the Halls!

The girls were excited to see what Tinsel and Jingle did this morning. Today they brought the girls ornaments for the tree. Julia is obviously a photographer's daughter, when she saw the elves she had to go get her camera to take their picture!
This afternoon we watched the Iron Bowl. We went low key and watched it at our house while we dug out Christmas decorations, but the girls did wear the Auburn dresses. It was 75 degrees today so there was no need for long sleeves or boots! Auburn didn't win, but we still love our tigers anyway!
After the game we ate leftovers, put on Christmas PJ's and decorated the Christmas tree! The girls were SO excited. Charlotte was precious, she kept saying things like "our tree is gorgeous" and "Mama, this is so much fun". They also divided up the tree. The side closest to the door is Julia's side and the side farthest from the door is Charlotte's side. They made sure to hang their ornaments on "their" sides!
The tree's a little bottom heavy this year. :)
We've had the best time today decorating. I can't believe the Christmas season is here!
