Happy Birthday Kenneth!

Today was Kenneth's birthday so Aunt Donna had the obligatory family dinner at her house this evening. I got my hair cut after school this afternoon so we didn't have time to come home before dinner which means we're just getting home from the day. It's time to get a little Julia sugar and head to bed!

The New EHS

We were still so tired at our house this morning that we slept in and missed church. I guess my current headache is punishment for missing church this morning! Julia spit up on my this morning after she ate. Michael said I always snap a picture of this when it happens to him so he made sure to get a picture for me this time!

This afternoon Julia and I went to a shower for Lauren at Mt. Pleasant. She and Brent got lots of nice things. When we were done at the shower Julia and I picked Michael up and we headed to the new Enterprise High School for open house. It's an amazing facility but I'm glad I don't have to navigate those hallways! I'd spend all my days wandering the halls!

When we left the high school we headed to Wal-Mart to pick up some bins for Julia's closet. I'm determined to find a successful way to organize all her clothes/bibs/burp pads/blankets/hats/socks/etc but for now I'm off to get ready for another week of work!

Lunch with Julia & Another Diaper Dinner!

The past two mornings Julia has woken up earlier than usual at about 4:45. This morning instead of playing the paci game for the remaining hour of sleep I had left I told Michael to just put her in bed with us. She went right back to sleep and looked so cute sleeping in our bed after we got up and were getting ready for the day.

Love those sleepy eyes!
My mom left her purse at home today so Nana, Pop and Julia came to bring it to her. I got a sweet email from Julia about 10:45 asking if I would like to meet her for lunch. Since I had already made plans to eat with Michael & his parents the 7 of us went to Trifecta in Daleville for lunch. It made lunchtime much more enjoyable but it made going back to 4th block much more difficult!

Tonight our SS class had a diaper dinner for Katie & Kathy Bruce at Old Mexico. We had a good crowd of about 20 girls there. Faith had a baby AT HOME (things progressed quickly) early Monday morning and was at the diaper dinner tonight!! Diaper dinners are always a good time of fellowship & fun which is a good thing since we counted 12 babies tonight that have or will be born this year from our Sunday School class!
Michael ran to Wal-Mart to get some laundry detergent & floor cleaner while I finished straightening up for Tammy to come tomorrow. I LOVE coming home to a clean house on Fridays! It makes the weekend that much better to not have to worry about cleaning up!

I head to Bullock County tomorrow night for the Warhawks first regular season game. I hope it goes well!

Julia's First Baby Shower & Grandad's Birthday Dinner

After sleeping in this morning (hey, we needed to catch up from our slumber party Friday night)Michael had to go into work for a little bit this afternoon so I took Julia to sweet Katie's baby shower. Katie married one of my good friends from high school Josh, and now they are expecting Baby Joshua in just a few short weeks! Julia was good, sleeping through a lot of the shower and loving all the attention. We had to sneak out a little early to head to Michael's parents for his dad's birthday. His birthday was Thursday but we got together this evening to celebrate.
Today was bath day for Julia so we decided to fill the whole bathtub up instead of putting her in her baby bath tub. She loved it! She kicked & splashed & grinned until I made her get out. Here are a few pictures from our day.
All dressed up for Katie's shower
Look at all that drool! It's a constant battle to try to keep her clothes dry these days.
Julia is such a happy baby!

Julia's First Football Game

My cheerleaders had their first football game of the year tonight. It was a jamboree game at home against Marbury. Michael came out and brought Julia to see me. Mom, Dianne, & Dr. Jay also came out to watch the Warhawks. My cheerleaders surprised me & did much better than I had expected for only 4 practices. Julia loved watching everything that was going on at the game. She was pretty content for most of it but we had to stand up after halftime. I mean, there might have been something going on up at the concession stand that she was missing! I think she made her dad & I both pretty proud with her fascination with football! 2 Days Down...

Day 2 with students is complete! Today was better than yesterday, so I'm hoping that trend will continue through the week. I had my first meeting/practice with my cheerleaders after school today. We have a lot of work to do to be ready for our first game next Friday!

I called to check on Julia during my break and quickly let Nana go because I could hear Julia making her presence known in the background. Nana emailed me this picture not long after that to let me know that Julia had calmed down and to help me get through the day. She's such a sweet baby!

Today was also "Final Day" for my ESCC class. I must admit I'm highly disappointed that I didn't get to give my first college final. I only had two students who had to take the final and neither one showed up!

This evening Ryan & Mrs. Connie came over to squeeze Julia's cheeks. They brought her the cutest smocked ballerina dress. I can't believe how "big" Ryan is. She was going into the 3rd grade when I started baby-sitting for them & look at her now! Before I know it Julia will be that big!

Born to Shop!

This morning I got up with every intention of going to work in my classroom. It is presentable for students but not how I would like it be. Instead we headed to Dothan with Amy, Brock, and Gale to do a little tax-free shopping. We went to a trunk show for Doodelbug Clothing. I got Julia 5 little outfits, too bad none of them fit yet! We enjoyed a lunch at Olive Garden then the boys and Gale headed to Dicks and Amy and I took Julia and headed to The Pencil Box, That Store, and the mall. It was was storming so bad we got "stuck" in the mall - not a bad place to be stuck! :) After a quick stop at Babies R Us for a replacement paci (where Michael knocked his head on the car so bad I thought I was going to have to take him to the hospital!) and a detour for a Little Cesear's Hot & Ready pizza it was almost 8:00 when we got home which meant I definitely didn't make it to school today! Oh well, there will always be school work to do!

I survived the first week!

I managed to survive the first week of school without a major meltdown. To say this week has been an adjustment would be an understatement. I went from not having a job on Monday morning to working on Tuesday! I think Julia is adjusting well to staying with Nana & Pop everyday but it's still hard to leave her!

We survived our first week of school & "daycare"!

I survived!

Todady was my first day back to work! It was tough leaving Julia but it was easier knowing that she was staying with Nana & Pop instead of some big daycare center. Today was mainly meetings and trying to prioritize what I need to do to get ready for students on Monday! I have a lot of work to do but that didn't keep me from running home to my sweet Julia at 3:00! I also had class at ESCC tonight so I had to get some quick sugars in before that. I give my final at ESCC next Tuesday then I have a couple weeks off before Fall semester starts! Things are about to get extremely busy around here!
