6 Years

Today Michael and I celebrated our 6th anniversary! Since our plans got changed yesterday we celebrated family style today.

We stared our morning off with Chik-Fil-A for breakfast and headed to Montgomery to the zoo.
checking out the monkeys
Charlotte loved the flamingos! She didn't want to leave them!
Julia wasn't so sure about this ball python. You can tell by the full length photo that I kept my distance!
watching the deer and bison
Charlotte told the animals "bye" when we left an exhibit!
The best I could get of these hot girls!
Julia and Charlotte both said the tiger was their favorite animal at the zoo.
They were roaring like lions!
Sweet girl!

6 years and 2 kids later!

After we left the zoo we went to eat at a great pizza place in Old Cloverdale called Tomatinos. It was probably the best pizza I've ever had.

Michael asked if I would drive home since he was feeling a little groggy from his medicine. It didn't take very long before this was the scene in the car. I couldn't even turn the radio up and jam out because they were asleep!
We got back from the zoo, took quick showers and headed over to Tom and Stacy's for a surprise birthday party for Amber. She turns 30 on Monday! Mom picked Julia up and took her to Betsy's Frozen birthday party and brought her back to Amber's party.
I didn't think we'd be celebrating our anniversary like this but it was a good day anyway! :) Happy anniversary, Michael!

A Change of Plans

Michael told me last night that he had planned a weekend away for our anniversary tomorrow. We were supposed to leave this afternoon and he wouldn't tell me where we were going. Unfortunately things didn't work out that way. Michael woke up early this morning with a rash ALL over his body. He was at the walk in clinic when they opened this morning. The NP said it was just a bad allergic reaction. I'm glad that it's nothing contagious but it still took a toll on him. He got 3 shots at the clinic and then several prescriptions. By late this afternoon the rash was gone but he's still drowsy from all the medication.  So, we had to cancel our trip. :(

This afternoon I turned my back for half a second and found Charlotte on the couch eating the kettle corn!  She's such a mess!
Granddad cooked hamburgers for us tonight. As usual, Julia had to gallop laps in the backyard and practice her barrel racing and Charlotte was right behind her.
I'm hoping that Michael feels well enough tomorrow that we can at least do something fun around here for our anniversary.

The Pirate Ship

Mom, the girls and I got up this morning and headed down to the beach for the day. The children's ministry at church planned a trip on the pirate ship for this afternoon but we went down early and had lunch at Schooners before our adventure.
When the pirate ship left the first thing they did was have a water gun fight!
Next  they got pirate hats and got their faces painted. Both my girls chose dolphins. Charlotte's didn't last very long, you can tell she was thrilled about it!
There's a little smile!
Then we found some real dolphins swimming in the water!
We couldn't go on a pirate cruise without a sword fight!
Fire in the hole!
Charlotte had a runny nose and wasn't overly impressed with the pirate ship experience so she and Nonny hung out in the air conditioning.
A real live pirate! Too bad Charlotte was more interested in her snack.

We even found some sunken treasure. The kids got to pull it up out of the water.
After they pulled the treasure in everyone got in a circle to see what was in there. The silly pirates tried to convince them that it was nothing so they could keep it all to themselves, but the kids were smart enough to know better!
Natalie getting her share of the treasure.
Julia getting her share of the treasure.
Charlotte came out of the air conditioning long enough to get her share of the treasure!

On the way back in they had a limbo contest, a dance party, and got tattoos!

Pirate Julia & Pirate Cooper showing off their tattoos

We were on the pirate ship for about 2 and a half hours and they kept the kids entertained the entire time. Charlotte wasn't that into it and a few parts were scary to Julia ( like firing the cannon). I think she will really enjoy it in another year or so.

A trip to PCB is not complete without a trip to Miracle Strip so we stopped by to let the girls ride a few rides on our way home.
We had a fun but long day. I hope the girls sleep late tomorrow!
