Oh The Places You Will Go!

Today was the first day of Read Across America week for Julia. Today's theme was "Oh the Places You Will Go" They were supposed to wear a shirt from somewhere they had visited. Julia chose her Rockette's shirt from New York City.

When she was getting dressed this morning she told me she wanted to wear her hair down, no pony tail and no bow. My mama heart hurt, but I let her do it, she just wore a headband.
I could not stand how having her hair fixed like that made her look so much older. After school she let me put a bow in and take her picture again. She looks more like my baby with the bow!
Tonight was family reading night at EEEC. There were 4 stations - a reading station in the library, a craft station in the hall, a snack station in the lunchroom, and a storytelling station in the gym. We ended up in the same group with Cooper and Ellington so the girls were thrilled.
After Reading Night we went to Santa Fe for dinner with the Robley's. A trip to Santa Fe isn't complete without a picture on the bull!
The kids had fun hanging out tonight, but it sure was a late night to start the week off! There are lots of Dr. Seuss activities this week for Julia!

Pancakes & Pajamas

Charlotte celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday at Small Steps today. They had their traditional PJ & Pancake Day. Charlotte chose her matching Grace PJ's and insisted on taking Grace with her. Mrs. Angela said she was sweet and shared with everyone. Of course no PJ outfit is complete without sparkly shoes and a "fancy" purple bow - even if it doesn't match!
Charlotte painted this cute Cat in the Hat hat at school. It even has her orange and blue hand prints on the front.

Today was a dance day. Charlotte has decided that she loves dance and has made lots of sweet, new friends this year!

Rainy Weather

We are supposed to be getting some bad weather tonight. Every body has been up in arms about it today. We decided to put the girls on the blow up mattress in our room in hope of getting some rest. With the thunderstorms expected I know it would be just a matter of time before they ended up in our bed. We have our closet ready with helmets, shoes, pillows and blankets just in case. I sure hope we don't need them though!
We've been getting lots of use out of our new rain boots this year!
Somebody's excited about sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's room!

Disney on Ice

This morning we got up and headed to Columbus to see Disney on Ice and celebrate GranDi's birthday. Isn't that how every grown woman wants to spend their birthday?!

The girls loved it, of course. I asked Charlotte what her favorite part was and she said "NOT Sapunzel". It took me a while to figure out why since Sapunzel is her favorite princess. During the Rapunzel portion a little girl got to come up and help them release the floating lanterns. She was ticked that she was not the one chosen! She said "she didn't even remember my birthday party!" Julia's favorite part was the Lion King, and Charlotte asked where Bunga was!

It was a fun day that ended with a birthday dinner and half brother at Huggin' Molly's! You can't beat that!

Happy Valentine's Day

We got up this morning and went to church. The girls got some more use out of their Christmas dresses from last year for Valentine's Day this year!
Daddy got us Valentine candy. The girls think anytime you give them anything they have to close their eyes and hold their hands out!
Julia got Minions and Charlotte got Ninja Turtles. (and I got Reese cups!)
We also got the girls another little Valentine surprise.
Chairs so their American Girl dolls can sit at the table with us. They've wanted these since we saw the American Girl store in Orlando and ask if we can get high chairs every time we go out to eat!
This afternoon Julia was invited to a Valentine's Day tea at Lucy's Fancy's house. It was definitely Fancy and the girls had so much fun!

We took our annual Valentine's pictures this afternoon.
I think this might be one of my favorite pictures ever.

While Michael was cooking dinner tonight the girls made necklaces. Julia made me this necklace and Valentine card. She ran up to me and said "Mommy, will you be my Valentine?" She made Michael a card too. It had a duck on it. I think she knows what we like!
GranDi and Granddad came over for dinner and brought the girls Valentine's. Julia got a little bucket with a horse and dolphin on it. She was so excited. Charlotte was equally excited about her turtle bucket, but she didn't have time for pictures!
