New Schools

This morning we registered Charlotte for her new school. She'll be attending the Mom's Day Out Program at First Methodist. It's called Stepping Stones, but Charlotte is calling it "Step Rocks!
The class lists were posted at 4:00 this afternoon at Hillcrest. We went to see who Julia's 1st grade teacher will be. She had to take her camera with her so she could take a picture of her class list. She is SO my child! She's excited to be in Miss Ward's class, but even more excited that Lucy and Rolin will be in her class!
Ready to see who her teacher will be!
I can't believe that school starts back Monday! Summer wasn't long enough!

Back to School Prep!

Julia has been asking for a hair cut for a few months now and today was finally the day. She got about 5" cut off. Unfortunately it was not enough to donate but I couldn't go any shorter! Here are a few before and afters of her new 'do!

This afternoon we went to Target to get her school supplies for 1st grade! She had fun picking out all the things on her (long) list.
Charlotte was just excited for her candy!
Searching for the perfect notebook
Julia's also been asking to go eat at Olive Garden all summer so to finish off our Julia Day we went to Olive Garden before we headed home. I think she's all ready for 1st grade now, I just don't know if I am!

Day Camp: Day 2

Today was day 2 of day camp. Lucy went with Julia today, they were excited to be in the same group!

Charlotte and I went to Panera for breakfast after we dropped the girls off. Every time Charlotte got up there was a pile of sand on her seat. I finally realized today was the first day she's worn her Chaco's since we got back from the beach. I think she had enough sand in them for a sandbox!
Charlotte and I had a lazy day playing Barbies at home. We were supposed to go to dinner with some friends but she fell asleep before Julia was even home from camp at 7:00! I guess that's what no nap does to a girl!

Camp, Cows, and Cupcakes!

Julia started day camp at church today. She has asked to go to camp all summer so hopefully this will satisfy her camp desire! She was so excited that they were going to the boy scout camp and doing "real camp things"!
After we dropped Julia off at camp this morning Charlotte and I made plans to go get breakfast. She loves Chick Fil A drive thru but is not a fan of going inside because of the cow, which is apparently the equivalent of a Jason mask to her. I bargained with her and promised her that the cow would not be there. It was way too early for the cow to be there, he was still at the barn taking care of chores which she thought was he funniest thing ever but agreed to go to Chick Fil A if that was true. So we pull up to Chick Fil A, open the door and the first thing out of my mouth is "oh crap. I forgot it was cow day". Every one in be building with the exception of us and 2 others are dressed up as cows. The girl ordering smiles and says "oh, I have extra spots!" as the girl behind the counter hands me a cow headband, neither of them realizing that that's the least of my worries. Charlotte is slowing tightening her death grip on my leg while trying to inch towards the door. I order, explain that she's terrified of the cow while the sweet employees try to tell her that cows are really sweet and distract her with sea turtle talk. We managed to get to a table with no tears although she hasn't left my side and I'm pretty sure my dreams of wearing her out in the playground so she'll nap good this afternoon are shattered. So, in case anyone forgot, today is Cow Appreciation Day at CFA. I'll accept my mom of the year award now.
Eventually she got distracted enough that she took a few happy pictures for me!
So, after the cow debacle I let her decide what we were doing the rest of the day. She wanted to go eat lunch at Touchdown Burgers and make pink cupcakes. She insisted on sitting outside even though it was close to 100 degrees today, but after our morning I agreed to sitting outside!
After lunch we went to the grocery store and got everything we needed to make pink cupcakes including pink icing and sugar sprinkles!
I think she forgave me for Chick-Fil-A this mornng, but I don't know if I will get her back to Chick-Fil-A anytime soon!

Secret Life of Pets

Today was a rainy Saturday so we decided to spend out afternoon inside at the movies. I think everyone else in Enterprise had the same idea because it was packed! We took the girls to see Secret Life of Pets and I have to say it's the best kids movie I've seen in ages. It got two thumbs up from all four of us!

No bows?

Julia decided that she didn't want to wear a bow today. She wanted to wear a barrette like a big girl. I sure hope this doesn't last!
