Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We got up this morning and decided to head to Atlanta for the Braves V Nationals game. The game was an 8:05 PM Eastern game. A night game meant it wouldn't be too hot (hopefully), but it also meant it would be a late night for Julia. After Sunday games the kids are allowed to run the bases so I was really hoping Julia would last through the whole game.
outside the stadium before the game
Mom had some buy one get one coupons that we were able to use. You had to buy the tickets at the gate, but fortunately we got some pretty good seats.
Julia was so excited!
What's a baseball game without a hot dog?
Michael Bourn hit a triple in the 3rd inning and the crowd went crazy. Julia's reaction was so funny. When everyone started cheering she wasn't real sure what to think, then she balled her hands in fists and shook them up by her head like she was cheering, then she teared up and started saying "I didn't do it! I didn't do it!" HA!

Doing the wave! She got so excited every time it came back around to us.
Julia did so good through the game, but we had to break out the iPhone for a little Mickey Mouse during the 5th inning.
These are my 2 favorite pictures of the night! The Braves didn't do so hot and the crowd was letting them know what they thought and this was Julia's reaction. Pricless!
Jason Heyward missed a ball to right field and the crowd stared booing him. I looked over and saw Julia joining in!
A little tomahawk action
After the 7th inning Julia was restless so we decided to head out. We (I) really wanted Julia to be able to run the bases after the game. Since they only do it after Sunday games and day games are just too hot during the summer and we can't normally go to Sunday night games since Michael has to be home for work on Monday's I knew this was probably our only shot this summer. We decided we would walk towards our car inside the stadium and see if Julia would hold out. Thankfully, once we got her out of the stands where she could run around a little bit she was fine.

After the game they announced that children 4-14 were to meet at the Hank Aaron ramp to run the bases. What?! 4-14! All night we had heard children UP TO 14, not 4-14! So we headed to the Hank Aaron ramp anyway and I asked if Julia would be able to run the bases. They said that as long as she could run by herself it wasn't a problem, so we headed to the end of the line - all the way up the ramp! When we got to the end there was a sign that said the wait was approximately 70 minutes from the last out! Thank goodness it didn't take near that long, probably only about 45 minutes after the last out before we were on the field.
Once we got to home plate Michael and I had to go in the stands while Julia ran by herself. Michael wasn't so sure that she would stay out there by herself, but we decided that we would point her towards the line and if she went she went and if she didn't then at least we got her picture on the field. She surprised us both when she took off toward home plate like she knew exactly what she was doing!
Waiting for her turn to run

Almost to second base!

Heading home!
She stood in line all by herself and ran when it was her turn. She fell about halfway to first base, but got up and kept going. When she got almost to second base she turned around and started coming back, Michael said it was because she rarely saw the Braves get past second so she wasn't sure what to do! I thought they would bring her back to us in the stands then, but they took her by the hand and led her all the way around the bases. She was so proud of herself! All the kids got a t-shirt and a certificate that said they ran the bases at Turner Field and was proud of her "paper"!
Here's a video of her running the bases!

Sweet girl was passed out before we even made it out of the parking lot. I think she's going to sleep good tonight, I know we are!

Best Friends

Julia and Caddy are quickly becoming friends. Caddy has always tolerated Julia, but she hasn't always been very gentle with him. In the past few weeks she's really started being into Caddy and understanding that she has to be sweet and gentle to him (like not pulling his tail) and Caddy is loving the extra attention.

This afternoon we had to take Caddy to the vet. Michael was afraid he had heartworms and he was overdue for his yearly shots anyway. Thankfully he didn't have heartworms, just allergies! Julia insisted on trying to hold Caddy in her stroller (which all the vets naturally loved). He amused her for a few minutes, but then he was ready to get down.

Poor Caddy desperately needs a haircut!

When they took Caddy to get his heartworm test Julia wanted to know "Where Caddy go?" and kept calling him until they brought him back.

I'm so glad Julia & Caddy have decided to be friends!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I had my 23 week check up this afternoon. I met Dr. Griffin, the new doctor in the practice. Everything looked good and I'm already measuring almost 2 weeks ahead! Since Michael couldn't go to my doctor's appointment I recorded Baby Girl's heartbeat and sent it to him.
Tonight we went to Rodeo's to celebrate my birthday with Mama, Blake, Nana, Dianne, Jay, Brent, Natalie, Rusty, Cristy, Aunt Donna, and Kenny. I had a yummy cake from Rolen's, it's a good thing my gestational diabetes test isn't for another month!

Julia wasn't too sure about the hat

When we got home and got our PJ's on Julia found a pair of my shorts in the dirty clothes and tried to put them on. She said "I wear your clothes. I cute."
Julia has been very into Nelli and Caddy lately. Sunday she tried so hard to get them to play ball with her. She would put the ball on the floor and roll it to one of them then wait for them to roll it back to her. She would sit on the other side of the room and say "Here I am, Nelli/Caddy". They are both so patient and good with her.

"I riding Nelli!"

Once Little Einstein's came on television the dogs lost her attention, that is quickly becoming her favorite show.
Kicked back in her chair with my iPhone watching Little Einstein's
When Julia was watching Little Einstein's a baby was crying. She came running over to me and said "Baby Sister crying". I said "Oh no. Tell her it's ok" so she proceeded to rub and kiss my belly and say "It's ok Baby Sister. Don't cry." I can only hope that in 4 more months she will say the same thing when Baby Sister actually does cry!

It's past bedtime at our house and Julia is laying in bed singing Happy Birthday, Mommy. Thanks for all the birthday wishes, it's been a pretty good day!

A Wild Imagination!

We met Rusty and Cristy at Beef O'Brady's tonight. Julia somehow managed to connive Rusty out of some of his chocolate cake and wrangled him into playing in the "arcade" with her.
When we got home tonight Julia watched her current favorite, Little Einsteins. She found her Sophie in her room and it has been her favorite toy this evening.
This afternoon Julia kept pointing to her ears and saying "Mickey ears". I thought she was trying to tell me that she wanted to wear her Mickey ears so I got them for her, but she kept pulling on her ears and saying "Mickey ears". I finally realized she was saying "Mickey IN MY ears" so when I ask her where Mickey is she tells me "my ears" and pulls on ears! I asked her what Mickey was saying in her ears and she said "Meeshka, Mooska, Mickey Mouse!" HA!
Showing me where Mickey is
Julia is laying in bed next to me right now and her tummy growled. I said "Oh! What was that?". Her response was "My baby in my tummy. She hungry." When I asked her what her baby wanted she said "Um..a bagel!"I think maybe Julia wants a bagel!

Only 4 more wake ups until a summer vacation filled with play dates, swimming lessons, gymnastics, beach time and FUN!

Recovering

Julia slept until after 9:00 this morning, which was over 12 hours! I hope she's starting to get her energy back. This morning she was fairly lively compared to the last few days. She kept telling me "Nonny outside. She in the sky in Donald's airplane." Then she would yell "Nonny, get down!". She is developing quite the imagination!
Looking for Nonny in the sky
I pulled Nelli's bed out of the corner to vacuum under and found that one of my earrings had fallen off and was under it. I hung it back up without thinking much of it. A little later Julia came over and started lifting Nelli's bed up and saying "It gone. It gone." I asked her what was gone and she said "Mommy's bracelet" (all jewlery is a bracelet right now). Apparently she had hidden my earring under there! I showed it to her and she said "Yes! There it is!"

This afternoon we rode Dothan to return something and just to get out of the house for a few minutes. Julia's energy was definitely gone by the time we got there. We were looking around in Kohl's and I asked her if she was tired and if she wanted to take a nap and she nodded her head yes to both, which is not her usual answer.

We ate lunch on the patio at TGI Fridays and Julia just kind of sat there the whole time. They were out of high chairs so she had to sit in the regular chair which is normally fight to keep her in, but today she just sat there.

Tonight we had dinner at Granddad and Grandi's house for mine and Eleson's birthdays (his was Thursday). She perked up some and played with Sarah, but after dinner when I asked her if she was ready to go home she said "yes" and started giving everyone hugs. She's definitely better, but she's certainly not 100% yet!
