Maleficent

We started our Saturday morning out with lots of fun chores! Everyone was excited at our house! HA! Michael cut the grass and the girls stood by the window and watched. When he moved to the back yard Charlotte went to her room and watched him out that window.
After chores we went through the drive-thru at Chik-Fil-A and came home to get ready for the day.

Julia was dressed herself this morning. Michael and I decided that we would take Julia to Dothan to see Maleficent. She was so excited for "alone time without Charlotte" that she dressed herself while I was getting dressed. She got completely dressed - Christmas dress, Auburn bow, and tennis shoes on the wrong feet all by herself. She was so proud of herself!
Charlotte had to have her picture made too! I promise we did dress her today!
Cheeeeeeese!

We dropped Charlotte off with Nanny and Pop and headed to the movies. Julia had to take both of her Lambies.
Popcorn!
We all three really enjoyed the movie. There were a few parts that Julia covered her eyes, but she did pretty good.

When we got back to Enterprise we picked up Charlotte from Nanny & Pop's. When we turned on their street we drove right past them. They were down at Aunt Robin & Uncle Tom's playing with Toby. We left there and went straight over to Sarah Christen and Brian's house for dinner. The girls had a blast playing, Julia did not want to leave!

Vacation Bible School starts tomorrow. This is always one of the most rewarding but exhausting weeks of the year!

Animal Tales & Chik-Fil-A

The girls and I got up this morning and met Grayson and Maribeth at the library for their summer program. Today's program was Animal Tales. Grayson and Julia loved it! They had an African Bullfrog, a Capybara, a Collared Aracari, a Brazilian Salmon Pink Bird-Eating Tarantula, and a Burmese Python. The tarantula's name was Charlotte and Julia thought that was so cool.
Charlotte is definitely my child. I tried to be brave and give her the opportunity to touch the snake but she wanted no part of it! She turned away from it and grabbed on tight to me!
After we left the library we went to Chik-Fil-A. That may have been the worst decision ever. It was PACKED! I was letting Charlotte play in the downstairs part of the play place. I looked up and she as gone! I was sitting in front of the only door in or out so I knew she wasn't gone but I couldn't find her. Until I looked up. She had figured out how to climb the stairs and was in the top of the tunnels!
We took dinner over to Granddad and GranDi's house tonight. I let the girls pick out cupcakes at Publix. They made quite the mess eating them! Julia said she had a beard!

Memorial Day Weekend = Sick Girls

Charlotte woke up this morning coughing and wheezing. After yesterdays fever I decided to take her into the doctor just to be sure she was ok before we headed to the beach.

Of course I waited until after lunch so Dr. Whitaker's office was closed which meant I had to take her to the walk in clinic. Fortunately we had a great experience there. We did a breathing treatment in the office and then went over to the hospital for a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia. She wasn't a fan of the breathing treatment or the chest x-ray but the second she saw me get my phone out and turn the camera part on she stuck that bottom lip out!

Luckily her lungs were clear but she does have a lot of wheezing and congestion so our beach trip is on hold for now. The NP gave her a prescription for a steroid, antibiotic and we are supposed to give her an antihistamine and do breathing treatments as needed also.  I'm hoping that will be enough to kick this and maybe we can head to the beach tomorrow.

I hate to have my girls sick, especially when we have something fun planned, but I'm just thankful that it's not the stomach virus this year!

Sunday Funday

After naps this afternoon we all loaded up and went out to Fort Rucker to go the stables. Unfortunately, most of the horses were out in the pasture so we didn't get to see many up close. The girls still thought it was great though.

When we got back in town we stopped by Granddad and GranDi's. They had an extra pie leftover from church that they set out for us to take home. We were in the living room and heard something fall. We walked in the kitchen to see this. Charlotte knocked the whole pie on the floor!

I took this picture of Julia's poor little legs in bed tonight. She got ate up by mosquitoes at the barn last night. I felt like a terrible mom when she told me her legs itched so bad. :(
Tomorrow kicks off our official summer, in my mind anyway. I'm looking forward to lots of days spent outside!

Crawfish Boil

We had  a crawfish boil at Aunt Robin & Uncle Tom's tonight. The girls played their little hearts out. Natalie and Julia made mud hole and played until they were completely covered in mud. Charlotte was a little cleaner. She wasn't too sure about all the mud, but she sat in her chair and watched them get dirty.
We enjoyed good food and good fellowship tonight!

The Last Day of School

Julia had her last day of school today.  She was not happy that it was the last day. She kept telling me she would have to go back and see Ms. Gail.
I've walked her into school everyday this week. After today I won't get the chance to walk her into her classroom everyday. It's really hit me that this is the first big chapter in her life that we're closing. She's been at Small Steps for the past three years and she won't go next year.
Holding Julia's sweet hand as I walked her into Small Steps for the last time.

Julia's going to miss Ms. Sue so much next year. She was in her class her first year at Small Steps and again this year.  Julia LOVES Ms. Sue. I told her she had to move back to the one year old room so she could have Charlotte next year!

While Julia was at school we had to go to Dothan to pick up the class gift for Ms. Gail. Charlotte has been obsessed with Miss Patty Cake lately. As soon as we get in the car she starts asking for her.
Ms. Gail posted these pictures on Facebook of Julia and her friends enjoying their last day of school. She's going to miss her sweet friends so much!

So, today Julia walked out of Small Steps as a student for the last time. And I cried. I know she has bigger and better things ahead of her but it was sad to close that chapter, that means she's really growing up. I can't believe a year from now I'll be preparing to send her off to Kindergarten. I may have to be medicated!!

After school we headed to Red Brick Pizza to eat lunch with Ellington and Cooper and then over to their house to play for a little while.
Michael got home this evening. Charlotte was happy to have him home for their bedtime routine!

Dress Rehearsal

Julia had her dress rehearsal for her first dance recital today. She was so excited and did pretty good. I had no idea how she would react when she got on stage, but she did great. I hope she does as well tomorrow night as she did tonight!
Julia with her trophy. Two trophies in two weeks!
Sweet friends ready to dance!
Sweet Henley is moving to Texas on Friday. We're going to miss her family SO much.

I was watching Julia and making sure that I kept her in the shot. Towards the end of the dance I heard some laughing and commotion and looked over to see that Julia and the few girls right around her were the only ones left on stage! Everyone else had left! They did their dance a few times before they got all the way through it. Hopefully they'll have a little better luck tomorrow! :)

Her "funny" face

We ate dinner at Nana and Pop's tonight. When we got home they got some of their toys and gave me a puppet show on the couch. I love when they play sweet together!

Now it's time to get Julia in bed so she can be well rested. She has a big week, her last week of school and her first dance recital!
