Thoughful Tinsel

Julia woke up to this sweet little note and present from Tinsel this morning. She brought her some Scooby Snacks, one of Julia's favorites!
We had to get out of the house for a little while this afternoon so we rode over to Nana and Pop's. She fell asleep before we got there and slept most of the time we were there though.
When we got home she was back to her normal, mischevious self. I guess she just needed a little more sleep! While I was trying to cook dinner she got into the pantry and got a juice box. I realized she had gotten it, but didn't think she could open it so I just let her play with it. WRONG. She got the straw out and opened it by herself! When she had had all she wanted she poured it out and got the bread crumbs out of the pantry, which she then dumped on the apple juice! She also opened the cooler that was in the kitchen and played in the cold water left in it, at least it was clean water! So, I think it's safe to say she's feeling better this evening.
After dinner tonight we watched Home Alone 2 on TV since Michael and Julia both missed watching Rudolph with me last night. Unfortunately, we had to go swap our DVR box today so I don't have it recorded to watch with them later! Oh well, we all enjoyed Home Alone 2 tonight and when something "bad" would happen Julia would said "oh no" over and over! :) Tomorrow night is The Santa Claus, I love ABC Family's 25 days of Christmas!

Sick Baby

This is what most of our day consisted of today - laying around and watching TV, mainly Mickey.
I finally fell asleep about 11:30 last night and Julia woke up  at 12:15 screaming "mama". Michael brought her into our room and after a few minutes of moaning, wiggling and crying she got sick. Luckily she only got sick twice in the middle of the night and that was it, but she has been running a fever and overall pitiful today. I sure hope she feels better tomorrow.

Tinsel did show up in the tree this morning though, so she was able to watch over us all day while we watched Mickey! When Julia saw her this morning she pointed at the tree and said "baby". We're still working on "Tinsel"!

She's baaaaacccckkk!

Tinsel was back at our house when we woke up this morning! She even brought us breakfast straight from the North Pole - snow covered donuts and green milk! Julia was so funny when she saw her, she said "A baby!" and picked her up and pointed to her nose and her eyes and said "nose" and "eyes" then she started calling for her daddy to come see!

Checking on the snow covered donuts
Loving on Tinsel
Giving Tinsel sugars
Checkng out her eyes and nose
"Oh! A Christmas Tree!"
Calling Daddy to show him what Tinsel did, she had to yell really loud since he was already at work!

This evening we read our Elf on a Shelf book before bed. I can't wait to see what Tinsel is up to tonight!

Lazy Sunday

Today was our last day of freedom, back to work tomorrow. Thankfully we only have 3 weeks of school and then we're off for 2 weeks for Christmas! We were slackers and didn't make it to church this morning. We laid around the house and finished decorating for Christmas, except for the wreath for our front door that I still have to make. Julia had fun playing in her tunnel.
Michael put her paci around Mickey's wrist like a bracelet. I got on to her when she started trying to take it off because I thought she was trying to rip Mickey's hand off! She couldn't get it off, but she didn't let that stop her from sucking on her paci!
This afternoon we decorated the tree in Julia's room. She "helped" although I think she had more fun throwing the balls. Excuse the lack of clothes, it's 75 degrees today!

War Eagle, anyway!

Today was the date we anticipate all year in Alabama, Iron Bowl Day. Unfortunately it didn't go as well as last year, but we're still proud to be Auburn Tigers! We ordered some wings and had Mom and Nana & Pop over to watch the game, then we went over to Scott and Jessica's afterwards to hang out for a little while. Julia loved being able to run outside and play with the dogs and big girls. Here's to hoping next years Iron Bowl turns out a little better!
Having a meltdown because all Daddy's dip is gone
"That didn't look good, Auburn!"
"Go Auburn!"

Black Friday!

Today was Julia's second Black Friday experience! There were no great door busters that we couldn't live without so we didn't get too early of a start. When Julia woke up we got dressed and left the house about 8:00. We hit up Toys R Us, Old Navy, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Inside Accents, Hobby Lobby, Books-a-Million, Eagle Eye Outfitters and Our New Baby. We even met Mom and Nana for lunch at La Parilla since we were too late to make our usual iHop breakfast with everyone.

Julia was so good, especially considering we left the house at 8:00a.m. and didn't get home until 7:00 p.m. She did catch a nap while we were in Hobby Lobby and Books-a-Million.

We finished almost all of our Christmas shopping today, now if we can get the outdoor decorations up and the gifts wrapped tomorrow I can sit back and enjoy the holiday season!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! We started our morning out the only way to start Thanksgiving off, by watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! Julia espcially liked the Mickey Mouse balloon and the Sesame Street float, no surprise there.
While the parade was on we finished up our turkey cake pops. The cake pops were easy to make, but the decorating part was a little difficult! I'm going to give the reindeer ones a try before I give up on them though.
We had our traditional Thanksgiving day lunch at Aunt Donna's house. We had SO much food, nobody left hungry!
Tonight we headed over to Granddad and GranDi's for dinner. We had plenty of food there too, we're not going to bed hungry tonight!

Cheese!
We are home now and trying to map out our Black Friday plan for tomorrow. I actually think we might skip, there just doesn't seem to be anything we "have" to have. In the past we have bought electronics and applicances, but we don't need any of that this year and Julia's not quite old enough to want a toy badly enough to fight the crowds for it. As of now we have no plans to go, we'll see what happens in the morning though!

Playground Fun

This is what happens when you only take a 45 minute nap the day before and insist on getting up at 6:15! By 9:00 Julia was ready for a nap!
We went over to Granddad and GranDi's for a little while this morning to see Sarah. They blew bubbles and made some turkey treats.
Julia was worn out when we left, she didn't even make it to our street before she was out!
When Michael got home from work this afternoon we walked up to Hillcrest to play on the playground for a little while. Julia loves to swing, but she was a little hesitant of these because she couldn't see out.
She loved climbing up the rock wall. She is definitely a climber!
Julia was determined to climb up this slide. She had some trouble getting on it, it was just a little high, but she didn't give up!
"I did it, Mommy!"

Tonight we went to dinner at Cutt's. Julia picked up a piece of her roll and stuck it under her chin. Michael and I had no idea what she was doing, but she looked at me and said "Where'd it go?" then pulled it out and said "There it is!". Michael and I laughed SO hard!
After dinner we made our first trip through the Trawicks. They had a ton of Mickey deocrations, I thought she was going to get whiplash turning back and forth and yelling "Ickey!" I'm sure there will be many more trips through this year!
