Gymnastics & Ear Infections

I had a follow up with Dr. Mike this morning to get the results of my allergy test. We're still not sure what's causing my lips to swell, but I am highly allergic to pollen, dust, cats, and pine trees. That's not really new information to be, but my levels were high enough that he thinks I'll benefit from allergy shots so I'll start those next week.

Charlotte has been kind of off this week. I'm pretty sure she has an ear infection now but I wanted to make sure before I started her on antibiotics so I took her with me. Dr. Mike checked her ears and they were both infected so we started her on antibiotics tonight. I hope they do the trick!

I called Mama on the way to her house to tell her we were on our way and that I was going to take Charlotte with me so that Dr. Mike could check her ears. When I got off the phone Julia and I had the following conversation:
Julia: "Mama, is Charlotte going to the doctor?"
Me: "Yes."
Julia: "Is her going to see Dr. Whitaker?"
Me: "No, we're going to see Dr. Mike."
Julia: "Gasp! Dr. Mike? He's my favorite doctor! He fixed my nose when I jumped on the bed!"

After my doctor's appointment I dropped Charlotte off with Mama and picked Julia up so we could go to gymnastics. Today was Julia's last day in her BabyGym class. She won't be able to go next week since we have VBS, but the week after she will start in the KinderGym class. It's an hour long and she goes by herself!
The balance beam is her favorite.

I'm so proud of the way she followed directions and did her stretches like a big girl!

Ms. Stasia and Ms. Linda were such good teachers. Ms. Stasia isn't teaching anymore, but I think Ms. Linda will teach her new class. I can't wait to see how her new class goes!

School's out for summer!

We started our morning out with an appointment with Dr. Whitaker for Charlotte. She's had a runny nose and cough for a while now but it seems to be getting worse so I wanted to get it checked out before we headed to the beach today. The snotty nose and cough seem to be from allergies but she did had fluid behind her ears so he gave us an antibiotic to take with us in case it turns into an ear infection.

Haiden emailed me a few weeks ago about using some of our photos for a display in Dr. Whitakers office. When we were called back from the waiting room this sweet face greeted us. Julia exclaimed "That's Charlotte!" when she saw it.
And just for my memory she weighed 21 pounds 6 ounces and was 28 inches long.

After Charlotte's appointment the girls went to school with me and then we went home to wait on Daddy to get home from work so we could head to the beach! Shannon and Eleson are keeping Caddy while we're gone so we had to come to PCB via Dothan. Julia and Caddy were both excited about Caddy's car ride!
The first thing Julia wanted to do when we got there was go over to the beach. We walked over to the boardwalk but we didn't go down on the sand. I have a feeling we'll be on the beach bright and early tomorrow though!

We went to eat dinner at a new to us place tonight, Dee's Hangout. It was good! We will definitely be going back again.

Brody and Michael have gone to the movies and Charlotte is asleep. I just put Julia I in the bed to go to sleep but the big girls are having fun watching her on the monitor. She keeps going over to look at Charlotte and coming up and putting her face right in the monitor! She's entertaining even when she doesn't know it!

Happy Mother's Day!

Charlotte wanted to make sure that we got to spend plenty of time together on her first Mother's Day. She woke up bright and early at 6:00 ready for the day. Michael went to get us breakfast at the gas station per Julia's request and then we headed to church.

After church we had lunch at Nana and Pops followed by naps and dinner at Granddad and GranDi's. I haven't felt very good today so I was happy to lay low. I think the madness of the end of school combined with Julia's birthday party is finally catching up with me. I'm just worn out!

I've enjoyed spending time with my sweet girls and I can't wait until school is out in two weeks so I can spend all day with them!

Finally Friday!

I've been wanting sushi for a while so we went to for dinner tonight. As soon as the chopsticks hit the table Julia grabbed them. She struggled with the real ones for a few minutes before our waitress brought her some training chopsticks which she did surprisingly well with.

And here's one of sweet sissy before she went to bed tonight!

Happy Birthday, Julia!

Happy third birthday, Julia! We started the day out with candles in her sweet roll for breakfast while sissy and I sang her Happy Birthday.

Then we got dressed and headed to school!

After Charlotte and I dropped Julia off at school we headed to Wal-Mart to get cupcakes for Julia's class. Charlotte go to ride in the front of the buggy all by herself like a big girl!
When Charlotte and I left Wal-Mart we went home so I could address Julia's invitations for her classmates while Charlotte fought her nap.
She's not actually asleep in this picture!

At 10:00 we went up to Julia's school to take her cupcakes to her class. I dropped Charlotte off in Tracy's office so that it would be all about Julia! They were only four of the nine kids in class today and Mrs. Nett was out but they ate cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday anyway!

When we left we got the May newsletter in her backpack. Julia is student of the month for May!

After school we met Daddy, Granddad and GranDi for lunch at Julia's choice, "the pig's house", also known as Larry's.
Then we went to get ice cream at Suggaberries with Nonny, Nanny & Pop. Julia had strawberry with sprinkles, gummy bears and "jelly beans".

After ice cream and naptime we met Nonny, Uncle Blake, Granddad, GranDi, Nanny, Pop, Aunt Robin, Natalie, Tracy, Hollye, Jared & Megan for a birthday dinner at McLin's.

After cake it was time for presents! She was so cute opening them and so grateful. She said "I love it! I'm so happy! It's just what I wanted!" or some combination of those phrases after ever present.
A beauty salon set and clothes from Granddad and GranDi

A beach dress, swimsuit, towel & season pass to Miracle Strip in a sand bucket from Nanny, Pop, Nonny & Uncle Blake

A princess puzzle from the Johnsons
And we can't forget the tutu and dance barre for her American Girl dolls from the Wynne's!
Julia & Natalie looking at all the animals on her birthday card.
When we got home and got Charlotte changed into her jammies I put her on the floor in the living room. When I looked back she had the aliens and astronauts from Julia's space ship and a big grin on her face! Julia usually doesn't let her anywhere near them!

Sweet sisters!

Tonight when Julia was saying her prayers she said "Thank you for Mommy, Daddy, Charlotte and the best birthday ever!" I hope it was sweet girl. We love you!
