Julia's First Play Date

Julia had her first play date today! Lindsay, Annabeth, & Emmalyn invited Donna & Raegen, Heather & Lucy, and Julia & me over for a play date this morning. We had a great time catching up, swapping advice & introducting the babies. Raegen is the oldest & Julia is the youngest and they are exactly 1 month apart. Annabeth was such a "big helper" with all the babies. Emmalyn's lucky to have such a sweet big sister! Thanks for having us over Lindsay, we can't wait to do it again!

Julia's First Bath

Since Julia's umbical cord stump fell off Saturday she had her first real bath tonight. She wasn't exactly thrilled about it, but I'm sure in time she'll come to love bath time just like Mommy!

Newborn Pictures

Breanna just emailed me the link to Julia's newborn pictures. Love them! Now it's time to get started on her birth announcements!

Meeting Gale

One Sunday afternoon in August (August 30 to be exact) Michael & I ran into Brock & Amy at Wal-Mart. They told us they were expecting. We congratulated them. They asked if we were expecting and we told them that children were not in the immediate future for us. Little did we know we would find out that afternoon that we were expecting! Fast forward to January/February when our doctors appointments lined up together, every other Thursday Brock & Michael would embarass Amy & I in Dr. Pollard's waiting room. Through that we have become pretty good friends. Brock & Amy had us over for dinner on Gale's 2 week birthday so I was not going to be outdone. Brock & Amy came over Sunday night on Julia's 2 week birthday for ribs. Gale is 5 weeks and 2 days older than Julia and I am sure they will grow up to be good friends!

Our First Overnight Trip as a Family of Three!

Blake graduates from Auburn at 10:00 am tomorrow so at the last minute Michael & I decided we would drive to Auburn tonight & spend the night so we didn't have to get up to try to leave at 6:00 am. With a 2 week old we weren't sure exactly what her schedule would be like in the morning. So we drove to Auburn Thursday evening & spent the night at the Staybridge Suites in Montgomery (there were no reasonable hotel rooms in Auburn). We took her pack n play for her to sleep in and she did pretty good. I'm just looking forward to the day that Dr. Whitaker says we don't have to wake her every 3 hours to eat! :)

The back of our car loaded up for an overnight trip! Funny how fast your life changes!

First Dinner Out

Thursday night we took Julia on her first "out to eat adventure". Michael & I along with the grandparents took her to McLins. She was such a good baby, she slept the whole time!

Our Little Model

Look at our little model! Today one of Michael's friends from engineering school came down from Birmingham to do Julia's newborn pictures. I knew she was an engineer, but turns out she's a heck of a photographer too & has a nice little business going. She arrived at our house shortly after 11:00 am & didn't leave until almost 6:00! Julia was fairly content all day, but she did not want to sleep so it was hard to get all those precious poses but Breanna hung around all afternoon to get the shots. I cannot say enough good things about her! Check out her website & contact her if you need any pictures taken (& you can't beat her prices!) Here are some of the "sneak peaks". I can't wait to get the rest of them & do her birth announcements!
I think this one is my favorite. I love the big pink flower
& her chubby cheeks are just begging to be pinched! :)

First Doctor's Appointment

Julia is breaking us in right. She did not sleep at all last night! She would sleep for about 45 minutes - an hour and then wake up. Michael and I are so exhausted but I know this is just the beginning! :) Dianne is going to Dothan today so she is going to pick up an inclined sleep positioner for Julia to try.

Julia had her first doctor's appointment with Dr. Whitaker this morning. She is down to 7 pounds 11 ounces. We have to take her back next week to check her weight again. Dr. Whitaker wants me to nurse her every 3 hours, including throughout the night to try to fatten her up. :) He also wants me to start pumping so that we can make sure my supply is adequate.

I'm just hoping I only have to wake up every 3 hours tonight instead of staying up all night!
