Pool Princess

Priss Pot did not sleep very well last night so we were up early at the beach! She woke up about every 45 minutes to an hour searching for her paci. Last night was one night I wished she would suck her thumb, but I'm so glad we won't have to break that habit! Blake & Michael headed out to go fishing with one of Michae's co-workers and Mom, Julia & I headed out for some shopping. We intended to just go to Target to get a charger for my camera but when Target didn't have one we ended up at doing a little shopping at Pier Park before we ended up at Radio Shack to get a charger. After lunch with Aunt Robin & Uncle Tom at Backyard Burger Mom & I enjoyed some downtime at the house while Julia napped. Once the boys were back from their fishing adventure & Julia was up from her nap we headed over to Aunt Robin & Uncle Tom's condo to let Julia play in the pool. She LOVED it. The only other time she's been in the pool she enjoyed it but only lasted about 10 minutes. Today my plan was to stay in as long as she was happy. Well after an hour I was ready to get out but Julia was not happy about it! She fussed when I got her out. Her little fingers and toes looked like prunes! I think she's going to be a water baby after all.

I took Julia over to Sue & Tom's this afternoon to swim with Hollye & Tracy while Michael watched the race. She seemed to enjoy the pool but she only lasted about 15 or 20 minutes before she got fussy. After about three "rocks" in the chair she was out cold. I guess swimming wore her out!

The Messers Visit

After a morning spent cleaning we were rewarded with a visit from the sweet Messer family. They drove up from Mobile to spend the night with Nana and Pop and visit with everyone. I'm so glad they're here for a little visit, I miss those precious girls!

2 Month Check-up & Shots

Julia had her 2 month check-up this morning at 10:00. She weighs 11 lb 3.5 oz (75th percentile), is 23 inches long (70th percentile) and had a head circumference if 15 1/2 inches (70th percentile). Dr. Whitaker checked her over and gave her a great report. He also gave us something to give her for her congestion so hopefully that will clear up soon! She had to get 3 shots (DTAP, ) and a oral vaccination for rotovirus. Michael held her legs while Mrs. Janet gave her the shots & I tried to "soothe" her, but really when you're getting 3 needles stuck in your legs & you don't know why there's not a whole lot you can do to soothe until it's over with. Mrs. Janet woke her up to give her the rotovirus vaccine first and she went straight back to sleep after she was done with her shots & has slept most of the afternoon. She was a little fussy late afternoon but I gave her some tylenol and she went back to sleep. She gets another round of shots at 4 months, I'm already dreading it again!

Happy 2 Months Julia!

Happy 2 month birthday Julia! We can't believe you're already 2 months old. You're still sleeping (swaddled) through the night from about 9:30 PM until 6:00 AM in your crib. After your 6:00 AM feeding you are up until about 7:30 before you go down for a nap until about 10:00. You eat about 6 ounces when you get a bottle. You give us lots of smiles (although you wouldn't smile for your 2 month pictures) & are so close to laughing! You love to watch the ceiling fan and sit in your bouncy seat. You have finally decided that getting your diaper changed is not a reason to scream and have learned to like your baths also. You like to lay on your changing table and kick your legs while you watch the ceiling fan and we talk to you. If we put you on your changing table and the fan is not on you stare at it and glance back at us like "Hey, aren't you gonna turn that thing on?". You sleep on your back at night but we do let you nap on your tummy. You change so much everyday and we know this is just the beginning! We love you so much!
