Camera Shy

This evening we had a typical performance by Julia, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
This little one was camera shy, so unlike her. She wouldn't give me a smile for anything!
Tomorrow is filled with more birthday prep for Julia's birthday on Friday and party on Saturday!

Julia had her last gymnastics class today. We're taking off for the summer. I can't for fun days with nowhere to go!

Miracle Strip!

We got up this morning and headed to the beach for the day. The girls got season passes to Miracle Strip for Christmas and Julia has been asking to go for months, but they just opened last week. She was most excited about the bumper cars but they weren't even open yet.

They started out with the Swing Sharks.
Then we moved on to the Butterfly Boat Ride.
After the boat ride we walked to the back of the park where the bigger rides are. I tried to get Julia to ride the Ferris Wheel or the Sea Dragon but she didn't want any part of it. She said they were too scary and picked the hot air balloons instead.

We got off the hot air balloons and Julia looked at the next ride, the tilt-a-whirl, and said "I wanna ride that". Every ride we passed prior to that was "too scary" so, when we got in line I totally expected her to back out, but she didn't.

Julia loved the tilt-a-whirl and got off wanting more. We rode the scrambler, rock-o-planes, and the tilt-a-whirl again. She wanted to ride the bullet but Michael wasn't so sure about that.
After all that we got a sno-cone and headed back up to the "kiddie" rides to ride the tea cups.

Of course we couldn't walk past a carousel without riding it!
They also rode the airplanes, cars, and caterpillar before we left. They both had a blast and I know we'll be spending lots of time there this summer!

After we left Miracle Strip we went by the beach house to change clothes before we met the Robley's for dinner at Captain Andersons.
We had a fun day at the beach but I'm ready for us to go spend a few days there, not just day trips!

Friday Fun

Michael had a family picnic/employee appreciation picnic at the park today. The girls met him there after Charlotte woke up from her nap. We watched him play softball, Julia played in the bounce house and we ate Larry's BBQ.
Don't they look cool in their sunglasses!

Julia and I met Betsy (and Troy, Carrie, & Ben) at the park for a little while this evening. It was so nice out and the girls enjoyed playing.
Michael picked up a Little Caesars pizza and we stayed in tonight. Michael and Charlotte are already asleep and Julia and I are headed that way now! I'm hoping for a nice, relaxing Saturday tomorrow!

The Petting Zoo

Julia  had a field trip today to Two By Two Petting Zoo. They had Llamas, rabbits, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, cows, chicks, donkeys, and a miniature pony. Julia had a great time, but she was disappointed that they didn't have the rest of the horses out!
Katherine, Julia & Ella
Cowgirl Julia!
She waited and waited for the horse to come back to the fence so she could pet it!
Mom and Nana kept Charlotte for me to go with Julia on her field trip. After lunch at Nana & Pop's Julia wanted to go home with Mom so I left her and Charlotte and I went home for naps. Charlotte fell asleep on the way home and slept until almost 5:00! That means she napped for 4 hours! I sure hope she sleeps tonight.

Mom sent me this picture. We had pictures at church tonight for the directory so she bathed Julia and painted her fingernails. Julia said she had a spa day!
Pictures were kind of a bust. Charlotte was not smiling in a single family picture that they took. Oh well, I always tell my clients you get what you pay for and since we didn't pay anything for those I guess I can't complain too much!
There were no smiles like this for our family picture!

Big Fun

We went to Dothan today to meet some friends at Big Fun. While we were in Dothan we got a few things for Julia's birthday party next weekend.
The girls always have a good time at Big Fun. Since school won't be out for another month or so we usually have the place mostly to ourselves during the day.
Charlotte loves these scooter things.
Julia and Charlotte love going down the big slides but Charlotte has a hard time getting up them by herself. I get a good workout trying to help her up there, but I get to slide down too!

We got back from Dothan just in time for church tonight.  We only have 2 weeks left before our choir program and Julia still has perfect attendance!

Rotten Girls

Charlotte put herself in time out today. Apparently time out is a better option than leaving the sippy cups in the drawer.
This little stinker is laying in our bed playing on her iPad.

Both girls are rotten!!

Visiting Daddy at Work

Julia has asked to go to Daddy's work all day today, so we picked him up there on our way to dinner. The girls love to visit him at work. I think they're so fond of it because they always get candy! Charlotte gets peppermints and Mr. Phillip always has a chocolate bar for Julia.
When we were leaving the girls stopped to see the Fire Truck. Charlotte was anxious to sit in it but Julia was a little unsure. I think she was afraid it would take off with her in it!
Julia wanted McDonald's for dinner so we ate there and let the girls play. We had an early dinner, about 5:30, but it's nice to be home and have the evening ahead of us without having to clean up the kitchen!

Easter Festivities!

We started our day off with the church Easter Egg hunt. We usually have it at Dr. McQueen's house but with all the rain yesterday and the gloomy forecast for today it got moved to the church.

I tried to take a picture of the girls together but Julia wasn't interested.

We started off the morning with the inflatables in the Fellowship Hall. Julia had a blast going through the inflatable obstacle course with the big kids!
Since the egg hunt was moved inside and the age groups were divided into different parts of the church so Michael took Charlotte and I went with Julia. He said Charlotte meant business with her egg hunt! He said she would put her basket down and go collect eggs and then bring them back to her basket. He took some pictures and even a short video for me!
Julia filled her basket with eggs too. I helped hide eggs yesterday and we hid 4,000 eggs for the babies-3rd grade. That's a lot of eggs y'all! The 3's and 4's were hidden a little big harder, meaning they weren't just sitting on the wall in the hallway. :)
After the egg hunt we got some lunch and headed to Ozark for Stella's second birthday party. The party was an Easter Egg hunt at the Dale County Lake. The girls are going to be professional egg hunters by the time the weekend is over!
This was the best Meg could get for a group picture!
Charlotte had to see what kinds of treats she got in her eggs!
Charlotte befriended Mr. Al and he made sure she got cake!

When we got home from Ozark we dyed our Easter Eggs. The girls both loved it. Charlotte didn't quite get it which frustrated Julia! Charlotte would put the eggs in the dye and immediately take them out. She also tried to see how many eggs she could cram into one bowl, including pushing on them and cracking them! Julia was much more into making sure the colors turned out pretty and using the special pencil to write on them and putting stickers on them. Unfortunately for her Charlotte wouldn't let her eggs soak very long either so none of them got a very deep color, but they both had fun doing it and that's what matters!
She was telling me that her egg was "FABulous"!
I called Mom tonight and told her that we were going to have to bail on providing the deviled eggs for lunch tomorrow. While the girls had fun dying the eggs I don't think anybody would want to eat them now!

The Robley's came over for dinner tonight. The kids played hard while the adults visited. Sweet Ellington discovered that she could sit in Charlotte's stroller. Charlotte likes to do the same thing.
After the Robley's left the girls put on their new Easter PJ's and set their Easter baskets for the the Easter Bunny. All Julia has said she wanted in her Easter basket is Peeps. I hope the Easter Bunny delivers!
Silly girls!
The girls are sound asleep and Michael and I are about to go to bed so that the Easter Bunny can come!
