Library Time!

The 3 and 4 year old classes at Small Steps get to go to the library once a week and check out a book and a  movie. Today was Julia's first library day and she was so excited to show us what she got!
Sissy is perfecting her new skill of walking. Her favorite place to play is still in the sippy cup or bottle drawer. She seems to have better balance when she has something in each hand!

Cupcakes!

Julia got this cupcake mix at Culinary Concepts back in June. She's been asking to make them for a while and since Michael is gone calling ball tonight I figured it was the perfect time. They're "magic cupcakes" so the mix is white until you add the wet ingredients and then it turns pink.

We baked them and then ate dinner while they cooled. After dinner Julia decorated them. I let her pick out the icing and sprinkles "all by myself" and she chose Christmas ones. I let her have fun decorating and tried not to "restrict" her too much which resulted in quite a mess, but as you can tell by her face she loved every second of it!

Now she's just mad!

This is serious business!
Look at all those sprinkles!
Pure joy!

Music & Missions

Tonight was our first night of Music and Missions (choir and mission friends) for the year. We had some fun activities in the preschool department including Julia's favorite, a bounce house!

First Day of School!

Today was Julia first day of K3 at Small Steps. Since we're doing an alternating schedule at my school this year today was like the first day of school all over again so unfortunately I didn't get to take her this morning.

She was still in her pajamas when I dropped her off this morning so Mom dressed her and took her to school. She did send me a few pictures from this morning. Dianne made these cute little buckets for her teachers, the apples are Oreos.
 Ready for school!

Since I have second block planning I was able to go pick the girls up. We walked next door to Annie's for lunch before I had to get back to work.

All smiles!
We had to get the obligatory first day of school picture by the sign. I can't believe how much she's changed since her first day 2 years ago!

"Really, Mom. Enough pictures already."

Gymnastic Stars

Whew! Today was a long day! The first day with students is always tiring, but add in Julia's gymnastics today and Michael's meeting tonight and I am beat! I was almost 7:00 before we even got home!

This sweet face was greeting me when I got home today. Mom had walked out the front door to get something off the porch without her and Charlotte was protesting!

When we did get home I let the girls play outside for a few minutes while I cleaned out my car. Sweet Miss Charlotte is walking all over the place now! I think we can officially say that she's a walker!
She still does her bear crawl when she wants to get somewhere really fast!
 Toddling away!
Seconds after I took those pictures she went to sit down and tumbled a little. She skinned her chin and her upper lip a little bit. I guess we'll see how bad it looks tomorrow!

Julia had check offs at gymnastics a few weeks ago and she got her stickers for the things she could do today. Since this was her first check off she also got her poster to put her stars on. When we got home she put on her poster. She was so proud!

She could run forward, walk sideways on the beam (both ways), crawl forward on the beam, swing on rings in tuck position 3 times on the bar, and jump to support hold for 3 seconds on the bars.
After we got home and unloaded I realized I had one more errand to run so I loaded the girls back up since Michael was still at his meeting. When we pulled back in the driveway about 7:30 they were both sound asleep. Julia woke up long enough to take her leotard off and go to the bathroom and then she was back sound asleep.

We celebrated Tracy's birthday today at lunch and Granddad's birthday at dinner today. I hope you both have a fabulous birthday tomorrow!

Finally Friday!

We had to be at the surgery center bright and early this morning to get Charlotte's tubes. I wasn't sure if they would do the procedure this morning because of her fever last night but they did. They listened to her lungs first and said that they sounded clear so we went ahead with it. The procedure took 1 1/2 minutes per ear. I don't think she was even gone from the room 10 minutes.
Yes, she wore Christmas pajamas! Trying to find clothes for an almost one year old that are 100% cotton, no zippers, and no snaps is HARD!

This afternoon the girls had a dance party in the living room to Call Me Maybe. Julia kept saying "Come on Charlotte. Dance with me!"
