Lazy Sunday

We've had a lazy Sunday today. I was trying to finish cleaning out Julia's closet and I needed to try a dress on her. She started crying "No! I don't wanna get dressed!". That about sums up our day!

I almost finished a stack of monogramming for Charlotte. Julia helped me out by picking the thread colors and her favorite, pushing the go button!

Julia's sippy cup leaked milk all over the house. When I asked what happened she said "I made a mess". So true Julia!

We have most everything ready for Baby Charlotte's arrival. We just got the big stuff out of the attic this weekend. We put the bassinet in our bedroom and Julia has enjoyed putting her baby dolls and stuffed animals in it. This afternoon I heard it go flying down the hallway and Julia shouting "Bye bye Baby Charlotte!" She had put her baby doll in it and was taking her for a ride. I told Michael Julia is not allowed to be around the real Baby Charlotte unsupervised! I can totally see that happening again in a few weeks!

Michael usually does bath time, but I gave her a bath tonight. She laid on her tummy and told me she was swimming like a mermaid, then she started saying "reach and pull" and reaching and pulling like they taught her in water babies. She also sang several rounds of  "Row Row Row Your Boat" while she was playing with her toy boats in the bath tub. Nothing is ever mundane with her, everything is entertaining!

Daleville Dental Cuties

Julia and I went over to Betsy's house this afternoon to take a picture for the Daleville Dental ad for the Daleville football program. It's always a challenge to try to take a picture of these two wild girls!

Choir & Mission Friends!

Julia started choir and mission friends at church tonight. Michael didn't feel good today and came home with a 101 degree fever so he didn't join us at church. I sure he hope he gets over whatever he has QUICK!

When we got to church Julia ate a few bites of her dinner and decided she was ready to go to choir so Mom took her to her room on her way to choir while I finished eating. She said she went right in and I walked by a few times and every time I walked by she was happy as could be. When I went to pick her up I asked her if she was ready to go and she said no! I'm pretty sure tonight was the first time she has ever cried to stay! She usually fusses when I drop her off and is ready to go when I get there. When I went in her room she and Mrs. Rita were playing at the tool bench "building a house"!

Pouting becuase I told her she couldn't hold a stick until I was done taking her picture

Showing off her paper to the bushes! HA!

When we got in the car at church tonight she said "Mommy, I had a good day". I ask her almost every day if she had a good day so that has become her new line at the end of the day. Here's a video of her telling me about her day!

Back to School for Julia!

Today was Julia's first day of school for the year. I've been asking her for a few weeks if she was ready to go back to school and she always responded by crossing her arms and saying "No. I don't wanna go to school" so I was a little nervous about how she would do, but she did great .
"You want me to stand here & smile pretty? OK, I'll give you the goofiest look I can!"

Daddy had to go to work before Julia was ready for school so we sent him a picture. I told her to take a picture for Daddy and she started waving and saying "Hey Daddy!"

When we got to school I asked her if I could take her picture in front of the sign. She said yes and walked right up to it, but refused to look at me, so this was the best I got!
When we walked into her room she squeezed my finger tight and I was afraid it might get ugly, but she went over to the work bench and started playing while I put her things away. I think she's going to have a little bit of tom boy in her. She loves to hammer and build things and at open house she was on the floor playing with the cars with the boys while all the other girsl were playing with the dolls and kitchen!
Since she was happy I went ahead and snuck out without getting a picture with her teacher, but Mom got one when she picked her up. She said this was the best she could do!

Mom sent me this picture this afternoon of Julia and her stickers. She said she was in the kitchen cleaning up from lunch and Julia came to show her her stickers. I'm not sure if that's enough postage for her weight though!

She has been so funny this evening playing with her baby dolls. She has put them in their stroller and taken them to the beach, Disney World, and of course Wal-Mart! When they went to Disney World I told her to have fun and take some pictures for me and she said "OK, I got my camera!" and walked over a few steps, put her hands up to her face like she was holding a camera and said "OK, say cheese!". Michael says she's the only kid in the world who still thinks that you have to hold the camera to your eye to take a picture! :)

Open House!

Julia had open house for her second year at Small Steps tonight. She was excited to see some familiar faces in her class! She got upset when we had to leave, so I hope that's a good sign for the year to come!
 Ready for Open House
 Silly girl!
She had to have her picture made with Caddy, but was a little upset that he didn't want to sit in her lap. Michael put him down next to her and she said "Hey Caddy. Whatcha doing?".
And just for fun, last year before open house! She's growing up too fast!

Elmo's Photo Shoot

Julia has been attached to her Elmo's this afternoon. She came and got me and said
"take my picture" and proceeded to pose with them.
Then she moved them so she could have her picture taken by herself.
Then she put the Elmo's back so they could have their pictures made by themselves.
Then she got back in the picture with them.
Then she did the Hokey Pokey with them (She's putting her right hand in).
Then she gave them big hugs.
And finally, she laid them both down on the floor and laid down with them and laughed when they said "Oh no! Elmo fall down! Can you help Elmo up?". And that was the end of Elmo's photo shoot!
The cover for the car seat finally dried out enough for Michael to put it back on the car seat tonight. When we were fixing dinner Michael looked over and saw Julia sitting in it. I asked her whose car seat it was and she said "Juju's". I hope she's not too upset when Charlotte gets to ride in it!

Back to School...

Julia woke up this morning when I was almost done getting ready. The first thing out of her mouth was "Mama, where's your car?" I told her it was in the garage and so she asked where Kenny's car was and where Daddy's truck was. I told her they were both at work and that I had to go to work today. She replied "OK, I go with you". I said I wish you could but you're going to stay with Nonny today. I guess she didn't like that answer because she crossed her arms and said "OK, fine! Let's just hide!" Oh how I wish it was that easy! :)

Today was a long and tiring day, but I'm glad to have it behind me. Tomorrow is another day full of meetings, which means a day full of uncomfortable chairs!

It was been yucky and stormy this afternoon so Julia and I sat on the front porch and watched it rain for a little while. She wanted to go outside so bad, but that was the best we could do!

Granddad and Michael are hanging the chair rail in Charlotte's room right now so hopefully we will have a finished nursery by this weekend!

The End of Summer...

Today was our last day of summer vacation. Julia and I met Betsy and Carie for lunch at McDonald's and then headed to the splash pad before heading home for a nap. I'm sad that summer is over, but I'm thankful that I had the summer off to spend with Julia. I'm also thankful that in a few short weeks we will welcome her Baby Sister into the world and I will be home to spend time with both of them!

The Olympics are over!

The three of us have enjoyed watching the Olympics over the past couple of weeks. Julia has really liked the swimming and of course, gymnastics. Tonight we watched the closing ceremonies. There were parts of it that were a little odd, but Julia still enjoyed it. She really liked the Spice Girls reunion! When they started singing she started clapping and dancing. It's hard to believe it's been 15 years since we jammed out to their music in 7th grade!
