War Eagle Anyway!

Unfortunately, Auburn lost to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl tonight, but we cheered anyway!

The girls played at our neighbors house today and helped make homemade tamales. Mrs. Priscilla sent some home and we enjoyed them with dinner. Charlotte was especially a fan!

Thanksgiving Baking

The girls and I did some baking for Thanksgiving tomorrow.  We made a cinnamon roll apple pie. We haven't tasted it yet, but it looks and smells good. These girls love to cook and be in the kitchen!

Gobble Gobble

Julia has been asking to make turkey cupcakes for days so we finally went to the grocery store and got the stuff to make them along with the rest of our groceries for Thanksgiving. Every single buggy that we passed in the grocery store got a "happy Thanksgiving" from the girls.

The girls loved making the cupcakes this afternoon. I'm pretty sure their favorite part was licking the batter bowl!
She was so proud of her turkey!
I would say we're well on our way to being ready for Thanksgiving!

Sunday Funday

Today was a lazy Sunday at our house.  Julia has decided she loves running, she definitely didn't get that from me. She spent most of the evening racing up and down the driveway.
After Julia worked up her appetite we made a pecan pound cake. I found the recipe on Pinterest a few weeks ago and I've been wanting to make it ever since. Of course the girls favorite part was licking the beaters!
When I was cleaning up the kitchen the girls came out into the kitchen dressed like this. Julia said she was me and Charlotte was Michael. Charlotte said "Take our pitcher. Wait, we need to stand like you and Daddy". Apparently Michael leans into me when we take pictures! HA!
There is never a dull moment with these two girls!

Sofia's Frozen Amulet

The girls woke up bright and early this morning ready to get our day started.  This little ham got into my swimsuits while I was in the shower.

We bought the stuff to make "Sofia's Magical Amulets" yesterday. They have been showing these on Disney Junior all summer and she has been talking about them for weeks. She even knows that the recipe is on "disneyjunior.com/disheswithdisney". Last night I put the grape juice amulets in the freezer and this morning we made the frozen yogurt pops.
We mixed all the ingredients in a ziploc bag.
Then, we put that ziploc bag inside another ziploc bag with ice and salt and shook it up!
Last, we spooned them in the popsicle molds and put them in the freezer.

We met Michael for lunch at Jimmy Johns and ran some errands before we came home for naptime. Charlotte slept on the couch while Julia watched a movie and had some quiet time.
We ate dinner at Larry's tonight and came home to have our "Sofia's Frozen Amulets" for dessert. Before we were done I was promising I wouldn't do anything like this until they are older! Julia did ok but Charlotte got it everywhere! I don't know why but this was much messier than a normal popsicle.  At one point I looked over at Charlotte and she was using her yogurt pop to paint the house!
We've all had baths and are ready for bed now. I have new teacher orientation tomorrow. I'm gonna miss my girls tons!

Christmas Baking

We still haven't done much of our Christmas baking so I decided to get moving on that today. We got up this morning and made a cookie/brownie recipe I found on pinterest. Julia LOVES to cook and help in the kitchen. Anytime I'm in there she is right under me saying "Mommy, can I help?".

These were really easy to make. You take the break & bake cookies and smush each one into the bottom of a muffin tin. Then you add a Reese peanut butter cup on top of the cookie and top them both off with a spoonful of brownie mix. They were so easy and so good! Michael said they would be even better slightly heated and topped with a spoonful of vanilla ice cream.

Stirring up the brownie mix

Tinsel and Jingle were at it again last night. The took Julia's shoes out of her shoe organizer and spread them all over her bed Then they climbed to the very top of her shoe organizer and were hanging out in it. She loves to look for them every morning.

This afternoon when we were getting dressed Michael turned on the Beatles and he and Julia had an impromptu dance party in our bedroom. She kept saying, "Daddy! Spin me! I'm a ballerina". These are the fun moments I hope she remembers.

Julia and Sarah are spending the night with Granddad and GranDi tonight and making a gingerbread house. I hope she gets enough sleep that she's not a bear tomorrow!

Michael and I spent the evening in Dothan getting one more present for the girls Christmas. Now we're at home with Charlotte taking advantage of a toddler free evening wrapping some presents! I can't believe Christmas is almost here!
