Horses & Hotdogs!

Julia had a riding lesson this morning so we got up bright and early and ate breakfast before we headed to Dothan. We got there a little early so Julia got to make her rounds and tell everyone hey. This horse kept putting nudging Julia. Julia looked at me and said "hey, is there a horse on my head?"

This was the first time Julia had been back to a lesson since she fell off Lucy a few weeks ago. She was more cautious and focused today, so maybe the fall was actually a good thing!
Trotting!
After her lesson Mrs. Karen let Julia drive with Lucy with her. I don't even know if that's the right terminology. I really need a horses for dummies book because Julia knows lingo that I don't.
After Julia's lesson we went into Dothan and ate at Honey's Hotdogs. I had never eaten there, but Michael talks about it almost every time we go to Dothan. The girls have never met a hotdog they didn't like and my chili dog was the best I've had in a while.
 Silly girl!
When we got home Michael went out to Tyler's to shoot skeet. Julia and I had some one on one time while Charlotte napped. One of her favorite activities right now is to put the phone on forward facing camera and take crazy selfies. She thinks it's hilarious!
Tonight Michael and I went to a banquet for the Wiregrass Emergency Pregnancy Services. They celebrated 40 years with a dinner at St. John's Catholic Church. FBCE had a table with some empty seats so Lindsay and Ben asked us to join them. We really didn't know what we were going to, but we had a fun night out with just adults, a rare occasion twice in one weekend!

Pastor's PJ Party!

Tonight was the Pastor's PJ Party at church. It serves double duty because the girls love to go to church and it gives the parents a night to eat dinner without interruption! They had Chick-fil-a, made aquariums, and bounced in the bouncy house and Michael and I met Jessica, Scott and Hollis for dinner at The Rawls. It was a win for everyone!
And I'll leave you with a picture of Charlotte from this afternoon. The love of horses around our house definitely doesn't end with Julia!

There are few things that make me happier during the school day than looking down at my phone and seeing a picture of my girls. I looked at my phone during lunch today and had these pictures from Ashlynn.
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this one. Charlotte is always sticking her tongue out!
The girls were snuggly and ready to play when we got home this afternoon. Charlotte loves to turn the camera around where she can see herself and make faces.
We met Jay & Dianne at Mellow Mushroom for dinner tonight. Julia was determined to dress herself. She did let me put a skirt on over her shorts, love her sense of fashion. :)

Back to School

Today was Julia and Charlotte's first day back after Christmas break and my first day back with students. Julia was just a little bit excited about going back to school. I hope she's always this excited to go back after Christmas break!

Programs & Field Trips & Christmas! Oh my!

Charlotte had her first Christmas program this morning. She was so excited about everyone coming to watch her sing at school. She must have said a hundred times "you come watch me sing?"
"Look at my happy face, Mama!"
Oh, I see this face a lot...
I had to laugh at this picture. The three of them stood with their hands in their mouths for most of the program!

For as much as she's been singing these songs at the house the past few weeks she didn't sing much on stage, but she didn't cry and she stood there happy so I'll count that a success!
Julia came to her program too, but it was impossible to get a picture of them together. Unfortunately Dad & Granddad had to work so they weren't able to come, but they've both already watched the video!

After Charlotte's program Julia and I went to All About Art to meet her class to paint Christmas ornaments. She's been asking to go for months so she was extra excited about this field trip!
After Julia's field trip & Charlotte's school we met Michael at Chick-Fil-A for lunch. This afternoon was naps, play doh, and painting before dance class for Julia & dinner at Saki with Granddad & GranDi. It was a perfect day off, too bad I still have 3 days of work this week!
