Julia's Eye Procedure

Julia had her procedure this morning to unclog her left tear duct. Hopefully this is the last picture we will have of her with a crusty eye! We had to be at the hospital at 5:45 a.m. which made for an early morning. Her procedure went smoothly and we were home by 9:00 a.m.
She had her own little hospital gown to wear. She looked like such a big girl in it, not a baby!
Once they gave her her "feel good" medicine she was quite the entertainment! They told us it would take about 2 or 3 minutes to kick in and after about 5 Michael and I weren't so sure it was working, but it did! She had this sweet smile glued to her face and giggled when you looked at her.

They let us carry her down to the operating room. When we left the operating room it was 7:05 a.m. At 7:25 a.m. Dr. Sugg was in our room to tell us that it was over and everything went well. He said they would probably keep her in recovery about 20 or 30 more minutes and then bring her back to us. While we were waiting on Julia to come back to the room Michael ran to get us some breakfast in the food court. As soon as Michael walked in the room with our breakfast we heard her cries down the hallway. Apparently it only took them 5 minutes to realize that she was going to be just fine and bring her back to us!

I had hoped she would rest some today but she hasn't slept anymore than usual. She and I met Nana at Jada's for lunch and did some treasure hunting at the Christian Mission, but I think this morning was more than enough excitement for one day!
