Sunday Randoms

The girls spent the night in Granddad and GranDi's room last night, but Julia was up in our room early!  Charlotte slept late so we took Julia downstairs to find something to eat. There was a little coffee shop downstairs where we got some hot chocolate and a muffin. Julia thought she was big time drinking her "coffee" in the elevator.
We all met Blake for lunch at a restaurant in downtown Mountain Brook. Julia loved the blackberries on her waffle.
We also stopped by Whole Foods on our way out of town. Julia loves pushing the little carts.
We got home this afternoon and relaxed a little bit before getting ready for the week. Charlotte found one of the gummy paci's and brought it to me and said "Hampton's pappy"!
We've had a busy, but fun weekend. Tomorrow is back to the grind!

Disney on Ice

We headed to Birmingham today for Disney on Ice! Charlotte was super excited before it started but got a little hesitant when all the characters came out and then she fell fast asleep! Julia loved it and was mesmerized the entire time. We had awesome seats front and center on the first row!
Charlotte loved the cotton candy. No surprise there!
And Julia loved her sno cone!
After the show we walked to the Mexican restaurant across the street and had dinner and watched the rest of the nail biting Auburn game. They came out with a win though! Disney on Ice and an Auburn victory, I would say that's a pretty good Saturday!

Princess Teeth & Equestrian Wear

Today was the day Julia had to have her dental work done.  We got up super early this morning to be at Southeast in Dothan at 5:00. She wasn't too sure where we were going or why we were going there. I told her that she had to get checked out to make sure she was healthy before her horse show tomorrow. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well she did.
Squirt went with her.
Just doing a little light reading while she waited on the nurses.

They took her back about 7:00 and it took about 2 and a half hours from the time we left her until the time Dr. Crowder came to get us. They ended up having to do 3 silver caps on her back molars. It wasn't the ideal outcome, but it was the best thing and since they're on her molars you can't even see them.

When she came back to the room she was pretty out of it. When woke up a little she looked at her arm and said "Mommy, I look like a mummy".
Showing me her mummy arm

She was anxious to get the IV out of her arm. Once they got it out and changed clothes she fell back asleep while we were waiting on discharge papers.
We got home around lunch and I had high hopes for a nap. Unfortunately, Julia seemed to have napped all she needed. We did lay in bed and watch a movie and rest though.

This afternoon she was back to normal.  She has been asking to try on her "horse riding clothes" so we put everything on to make sure we're set for her first horse show tomorrow. She got SO excited when she got everything on. She said "I can't believe I'm going to be in a real horse show"! She may not win tomorrow, but I guarantee she'll be the cutest one out there!
We went over to Jay and Dianne's this afternoon and got Charlotte. She always enjoys one on one time, but I was glad to have her back!

Today was an early morning and tomorrow's going to be a long day so we're heading to bed early. Julia's so excited I just hope she can sleep tonight!

Best. Day. Ever.

Julia had her first horseback riding lesson today. After 2 years of asking, begging, and crying to ride horses she finally got her wish, according to her this way "the best day ever"!
Julia outside the stable. She has now declared that she would like to "live with the horses".

She started out with learning all about the different brushes used to "broom" the horse. She "broomed" one side and Mrs. Karen "broomed" the other side.
Next, she checked Bella's feet and learned all about the parts of the horse feet.
She was loving every second of it and ready to FINALLY ride!

Julia & Bella in action!
Giving Bella hugs after practice
Getting ready to walk Bella back to her stall
Somehow Julia managed to squeeze herself and Bella through about
2 feet of the 12 feet opening to the barn!
After Julia was done riding she had to muck the stalls!

And, of course we couldn't leave without giving Bella a little more love and a treat!
Julia loved every second of it and is so excited to go back next week. I see many hours spent around horses in our future.
