Rodeo Girls

Tonight we loaded up and headed to Ozark to eat at El Palacio and go to the rodeo at the Dale County Ag Complex. It didn't start until 8:00 and it wasn't a huge rodeo, but the girls loved every second of it.

Can you tell she was SO excited?
Mesmerized
She wasn't too sure about the calf roping!
Barrel racing!
During the calf roping Charlotte kept saying "Oh no! Cow fall down!"
Julia & Granddad
It was a long night, but this girl hung with it!
Of course, Julia had to ride the horse.
Julia was beyond thrilled to finally have her very own lasso!

Open House!

Do you ever wonder if you'll ever have a night at home to just relax? I used to think "when we have kids we'll stay home". Then I thought "when summer's over we'll stay home". Now it seems like we'll never actually slow down. We're always on the go.

I picked the girls up from Mom's and headed home to change clothes before Charlotte's open house. We were sitting at the stoplight by Sessions when I car passed by with an Alabama tire cover on the back. Julia immediately started yelling "Alabama! Gross!" and Charlotte quickly joined in. I guess you could say we're brain washing them. :)

Julia stayed with Granddad and GranDi while Michael and I took Charlotte to meet her teacher at Open House. Julia know's she is going to Miss Julie's and knows where Miss Julie's is, but I don't think she's connected yet that because she's going to Miss Julie's she's not going to Small Steps this year.
 She loves to accessorize!

We dropped Julia off and while were backing out of the driveway Charlotte was saying "I wanna stay! I wanna stay!" I told her that we were going to meet her teacher and that she was going to school this year. I said "Don't you want to go to school?" Her response was a big "NOOOOO!!" I hope Miss Zoey and Mrs. Ashlynn are ready for her! :)

Scooters & Tricycles

I can feel the days getting shorter already so we've been trying to soak up as much outdoor time as possible. When we got home from church tonight the girls asked to play outside so we rode scooters and tricycles for a little while. I think these girls would live outside if we would let them!

TAP!

The day is finally here. The day Julia has been talking about since we registered her in May. The day she starts TAP! She was ready to go as soon as I got to Nonny's to pick her up. I had planned to take her out to take some nice pictures before dance this afternoon but it was pouring when school got out so we had to change those plans. Instead we took some shots on the front porch. Hopefully we can take some good ones this weekend.
She was so excited about taking her dance bag with her tap shoes in it!
When we were leaving dance tonight Julia said "Mama, did you see that boy look at me? He was fabulous!" I thought I had at least a few more years left until she started saying things like that about a boy, although I'm sure most boys wouldn't appreciate being called fabulous!

Charlotte stayed at home with Michael while I took Julia to dance. When I got home they were both looking in the fish tank. She told me they watched Doc McStuffins and played with Caddy too.
Michael had a follow up for his MRI today. He scheduled surgery for next Monday. When Julia woke up this morning she kept asking if Daddy was going to have to cut off his arm and how would be able to pick her up if he had to cut off his arm etc. (She woke up in the middle of the night asking me if he was going to have to cut off his arm so she must of been dreaming about it) So, when he was putting her pajamas on tonight he was telling her about having to have surgery next week. She came out into the living room and was so sweet telling me all about it so I had to have her retell me so I could record it.

I hope this whole operation thing is as easy as Julia makes it sound. And for the record, Michael didn't fall out of a tree. :)

Muah!

This sweet girl sent me a kiss at school today while her sister was napping.
We celebrated Jared's birthday at Santa Fe tonight. We had good food, good fellowship, and good cookie cake but I am beyond ready for bed. I've got to get back in the habit of waking up early!

Pouting & Popsicles

The girls slept in this morning! Charlotte slept until 8:30 and we still made it to Sunday School! Woo hoo! After church we met the Robleys for lunch at Beef O'Brady's and then came home and spent the afternoon around the house. We did some housework, I did some schoolwork, and the girls played.

When the girls were playing Julia took something from Charlotte and Charlotte sat down in the hall, crossed her arms, stuck out her bottom lip and pouted!

The girls have been asking to eat their other popsicle that we made so I told them they could have it after dinner tonight.  I'm not sure who enjoyed it more!
Tomorrow starts my first full week with students.  Julia also starts dance this week and Charlotte has open house. It's going to be a busy, but fun week!
