Play Doh & Go Carts

The girls and I got out the Play Doh this afternoon for a little fun. They always have fun Play Doh.

 Julia's heart

This evening we went to AdventureLand in Dothan. Julia has been wanting to go ride the "race cars" all summer. She loved it. She kept saying "This is awesome!" and "woo hoo".

We played some games in the arcade and then went to Red Elephant for dinner. Cole, who was in Julia's 2 year old class, was there eating with his daddy. He walked by our table on his way to the restroom and left his kids menu with us. When Julia opened it he had written her name in it. She wrote his name in it and gave it back to him when he came out of the bathroom. So cute!

A Rainy Day

This pictures pretty much sums up our day. It's been a rainy day and with the exception of a visit at Nana and Pop's we haven't done much except hang around the house. It's been a lazy, rainy day!

Belated Anniversary Getaway

The girls are definitely belong to Michael. They requested Chinese for lunch and loved every bite!
Michael and I left this afternoon to spend the weekend at Callaway Gardens for our belated anniversary trip. We got here late this evening, got some dinner and checked into our hotel. We drove around and explored a little bit and checked out the FSU circus before turning in for the night. We don't have any plans for tomorrow, just sleeping late and exploring!

The Dentist...Again

Julia and I got up this morning and headed to Dothan for her 9:00 appointment. I didn't exactly tell her where we were going, I just told her we were going to see granddads friend. She was a little apprehensive when we got there but they gave her some "juice" to ease her nerves before they took her back. The following pictures and video are a result of the "juice"!

Julia's "Minnie Mouse nose"

We attempted the fillings but Dr. Crowder and I agreed that with as jumpy and apprehensive as she was even with the "juice" and gas that we would probably be better to try it another way. She wasn't bad. She didn't yell, cry, or scream but she was however very unsure of what was going on. You could see a look of terror in her eyes when they put the thing in her mouth so she couldn't close it and I was having to hold her arms still while Dr. Crowder's assistant held the gas on her face. Dr. Crowder and I agreed that even if we fought through the two today we'd still have to go back and fill the two on the other side and we were afraid she might be terrified of the dentist forever! So, we're going to have to take her to the hospital and have her put to sleep to fill them. The good news is that they will be able to fill all of them at one time as well as do a good cleaning and take x-rays. It's not exactly the outcome I had hoped for but it is the outcome that I kinda expected.

This is certainly not the best picture of Charlotte, but you can see her face. Poor girl got it good!

A Black Eye

Mom and I had to run a few errands in Dothan this morning so we took the girls to Chuck E Cheese while we were there. As usual, they had a great time but were not too thrilled when Chuck E Cheese came out.
You can't really tell in this picture, but this is Charlotte's favorite thing to do there (besides eat). They had a little Ferris Wheel ride at the old Chuck E Cheese that was the same thing and I remember liking it when I was little.
Tonight the girls and I were playing outside while Michael grilled pork chops for dinner.  Julia was sitting on the brick ledge of our house. Naturally, Charlotte had to try it for herself, unfortunately for her she slipped and scraped her face on the bricks. I think she'll have a nice black eye tomorrow.
Dr. Crowder's office called this evening and had an opening tomorrow morning for Julia to get her cavities filled so we're heading over there in the morning. Say a prayer that everything will go smoothly and without drama!

Pedicures!

The girls and I started our day off with lunch at Bo Jangles (Julia's choice).

After lunch we headed across the street for Julia's first pedicure. I've been trying to get her to get a pedicure for about a year (something that I probably should have thought through better and not encouraged!) She has had no interest in them and said they were "scary". One time we went into the nail salon but she wouldn't get in the chair so we left. Last Friday when Michael was sick she went with me to Publix. When we drove by the nail salon in the shopping center she told me she wanted a pedicure. I told her we would go get one later if she really wanted one and she has asked for one every day since then so today we went!
She was a little hesitant at first and asked what everything was!
Relaxing!
Charlotte was not going to be left out! Julia got a full pedicure and Charlotte got her toes painted. They thought they were big stuff!
"Look! Look!"

I laughed because Julia picked the conservative coral/pink color and Charlotte picked the flashiest, brightest silver glitter they had! It looked much flashier in the bottle!
When Michael got home from work we had the car loaded and headed to the beach. I'm ready to get some time in the sun this weekend!

Splash Pad Fun

The girls and I stayed pretty close to home today. We ventured to the splash pad late this afternoon. This is the first time we've been this year. Julia didn't love it last year but she did today! Charlotte enjoyed it to until she got too distracted by the slide.
Charlotte insisted on wearing her rain boots to the splash pad!
When we got home from the park the girls played in the pool in the backyard. Charlotte got her first fat lip going down the slide. I'm not sure exactly what she hit, I think she actually bit the inside of her lip when she went down it.
The girls are playing in Julia's room and Michael and I are watching Hart of Dixie on Netflix. I was looking for a new show to watch this summer and we've gotten hooked on it. It's in it's fourth season so we have lots of catching up to do!
