Happy Birthday Michael!!

Happy birthday, Michael! Michael went to work this morning and I had a newborn session. I dropped Julia and Charlotte off at GranDi and Granddad's but not before Julia took a little ride on her "new" horse!
We went to McLin's tonight for dinner to celebrate. We enjoyed good fellowship, good food & Rolen's cake!

Michael and Julia have been wanting a boat so Julia got him two!
We got Michael a guided quail hunt and a cooking lesson with Chef Bill from The Rawls. He can hunt our food and cook it!

Happy birthday Michael! We hope you had a good day!

Happy Father's Day!

We have spent today celebrating a special daddy! Charlotte's eye was still a little questionable so we didn't go to church this morning but we did go to lunch. Michael's choice was Cheeburger Cheeburger. OK, his choice was actually Captain D's but he settled for Cheeburger Cheeburger.

We stayed around the house most of the afternoon. Michael and the girls watched golf and the college dance finals on ESPN! I guess that's what you get for being the daddy of 2 girls!

This evening we went to see Pop and Uncle Tom and wish them a happy Father's Day. Granddad and GranDi came over for a dinner of shrimp and grits. We ended our Father's Day obligations by calling my dad.

The girls and I made a video of Julia answering some questions about Michael for part of his Father's Day present. It took a few tries to get Julia to answer all the questions and Charlotte refused to say "dada", but I think it turned out cute.

We are ending our day with Charlotte in bed and Julia laying in her sleeping bag watching Miss USA with us.
Happy Father's Day, Michael! We love you!

Saturday Fun!

Julia stayed at GranDi and Granddads this afternoon while Michael, Charlotte and I went to Dothan. I need some new sandals so walked around the mall for a little bit and then headed back home empty handed.

Michael cooked chicken for dinner tonight while the girls and I played outside for a little while. Julia always wants climb this tree in our front yard. I think I finally convinced her that it's not quite big enough.

My little tree hugger

This sweet angel is changing up her sleeping patterns. She slept until almost 8:15 this morning, but it is 9:30 and she is still going strong! The good thing is she's at least more on track with her late to bed, late to rise sister! I'm off to try to get her to sleep! Good night!

Friday Fun

Today was Michael's Friday off and since everyone had some medicine in them and was feeling  a little better we decided to venture out today. We let Julia choose where we ate lunch today so we went to one of her favorites, Cutt's. Charlotte had some butter beans and macaroni and cheese and I'm pretty sure she's a Cutt's fan now too!
Julia took a long nap today and woke up in such a happy mood. She has been waking up from her naps in a grumpy mood so this was a welcome change.
Julia is spending the night with Granddad and GranDi tonight so Charlotte is an only child for the night. We went out to dinner and then came home and watched a movie. Charlotte was so excited about being an only child for the night that she wanted to stay up and watch the movie with us instead of going to bed!
Dianne posted this picture on FaceBook earlier. It looks like they have their hands full tonight!

Splash Pad & Sickies

First things first. This sweet girl slept until 8:15 this morning! That is major for a girl who is usually up by 5:45. I'm crossings fingers that we're starting a new routine here
We met Betsy & Carie at the splash pad this morning. I didn't expect Julia to last more than 30 minutes but we ended up staying for almost 2 hours!

When we left the splash pad and got lunch at Arby's before heading home for what I hoped would be nap time. Charlotte took a pretty good nap but Julia was a different story. When I got done putting Charlotte down I found Julia in the kitchen with a bag of grapes she got out of the refrigerator. She was supposed to be laying down in bed where I left her!
We got a phone call this afternoon from Dr. Whitaker's office. Apparently even though her strep test came back negative yesterday it grew strep overnight so she does have strep throat. We started her on an amoxicillin tonight. Michael said that his throat hurt this morning so I looked at it this afternoon and he has puss pockets too!

Charlotte'd eye started watering this afternoon and by the time we put her to bed it was red and swollen. I'm afraid she has pink eye now! She has a check up with Dr. Mike in the morning to check on her ears so we'll see what he has to say about it then. We can't seem to catch a break lately!

Tonight, Julia was in Charlotte's room while I was getting her ready for bed. She got in Charlotte's little house and said "Mama, take my picture". So I did!
I'm hoping the sickles leave our house soon! We may have a long weekend at home!

VBS:Day 5

We had a long day at VBS! We served cotton candy to over 300 kids! It was a long morning!
Pop walked the halls with Charlotte this morning!
Julia loved her cotton candy!

Julia had swimming lessons again today. She did ok, but seemed to do a lot of crying/whining. We're going to skip tomorrow and reschedule for one day next week. I hope she'll do better once she's well rested.

Do you see what I mean? Hopefully next week will be better!

VBS: Day 4

Today was "color day" at VBS. Julia's class color was blue. I pulled out 3 blue outfits for her to choose from. She looked at them and said "Mama, there's no Aubie out here!" HA! I told her she could wear her Aubie dress but she decided on Nemo.

Charlotte got up about 5:00 this morning. That's early even for her! She has been fighting an ear infection and has been super clingy so I decided to just take her with me today. I wore her in my Moby wrap for most of the morning. Brunson was a good helper with her too. I don't know very many boys his age who would willingly hold a baby! :)
Swimming lessons and VBS in one week have worn Julia out! She fell asleep on me while we were watching TV on the couch tonight. You know she's exhausted if she even gets still enough to fall asleep!
This little love has had a long week too. I took her with me to get my allergy shot and had Dr. Mike check her ears again. I suspected they were still infected and they were. Her gave her a new antibiotic so hopefully this one will do the trick.
We have one more day of VBS this week. Tomorrow we are serving cotton candy. It's going to be a *long* day of serving cotton candy to 350 kids!
