Landmark Park

When we got in the car to go to church this morning Julia asked to listen to the "Mayba Song". We turned it on and were dancing and she kept saying "Oh yeah. Oh yeah" Funniest thing ever!

I had a maternity session at Landmark Park in Dothan this afternoon. We have wanted to take Julia so Michael and the girls rode with me. They were both asleep when we got there so they sat in the car while I took my pictures.

After I got done with my pictures I found Michael and the girls. Julia was asleep in the stroller but we walked over to the animals anyway. I rubbed her arm a little bit and she didn't move a muscle. I whispered "Julia, there's animals" and she sat straight up in her stroller and started looking all around saying "Where? Where's the animals?" Michael and I both busted out laughing.

We saw pigs, horses, goats, sheep, chickens & cows. The goat was trying its best to get out of the pen and get to Julia. She named the cow "Darndey". I have no idea where that name came from or what it means, but that's what she named it!

 Checking out the pigs
When we got ready to go Julia decided she had to go to the bathroom. We pulled the potty seat out of the back and let her sit on it. There's nothing like a potty break with a cup of ice cream with two spoons in it!

Tonight we went over to Aunt Donna's for Cristy's birthday dinner.  Julia was very disappointed that we skipped the singing and just cut the cake!

Eddie called this afternoon and wants to show our house Wednesday afternoon so it looks like we'll be spending tomorrow night and Tuesday night cleaning! That sounds like a fun start to our week!

Beach Babes

Charlotte and I got up this morning and went to get Julia from Grandi and Granddads so we could head to the beach. Mom rode with us and we met Tracy and Hollye down here.

Julia has been asking to go to the beach house for months. As soon as we got here she wanted to go over to the beach so Hollye and I took her over. It was so pretty, but the sand was cold on our toes!
When we got back from the beach Mom and Tracy said that the power had flashed while we were gone. We were sitting there watching TV when a power truck pulled up. The guy got out and walked over to the side of the house. While we were trying to figure out what he was doing our power went out. I headed outside to see what was going on and the guy said the breaker had burned up. We didn't believe him, but sure enough it was melted. So, we decided to head out to Hobby Lobby to do some shopping while we waited on the power to come back on.

After our Hobby Lobby trip we were ready to eat dinner. Of course with 4 girls it took forever to decide where to eat. We finally settled on Hammerhead Fred's. You can tell it's winter and PCB is not a snowbird hotspot because it was dead! I think there was only one other table in the restaurant.
We're back at the beach house now and the girls are ready for bed. I'm hoping for a good nights sleep from Charlotte!

Park Fun

Charlotte woke up with a runny nose this morning so we decided not to take her to the nursery, which meant no church for us. After she had been up and moving for a little bit her nose dried up so we decided to get an early lunch and head to the park for a little bit.

Charlotte looked so big sitting in the swing watching Julia swing.

Julia wanted to get in the handicap accessible swing so we strapped Julia and Charlotte in. They swung for a long time before Julia was ready to get out. Charlotte just looked around and soaked it all up.

We've had a pretty lazy/uneventful weekend. Now it's time to get ready to go back to work tomorrow. Only 18 more weeks until summer vacation, but who's counting?? :)

Shopping Day

I have had Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket for almost 3 weeks now. We haven't had a chance to go to Dothan long enough to actually shop until today. Both girls woke up in good moods so we decided to head to Dothan to return a few things and use our gift cards. We ended up spending all day in Dothan, not getting home until almost 8:00 tonight.

We went by the pet store and got our first two fish for the fish tank. Julia wanted to name them both Barbie, but settled on Barbie and Ken. Now we'll see how long they survive!

Pastor's Pajama Party!

This morning was pure torture getting up and leaving the rest of my family in bed snoozing. Michael sent me this picture while I was at school though and it helped to brighten my day. Are you noticing a trend here with her hand on her hip. SASSY!
Tonight was the Pastor's Pajama Party at church for the preschool department. Julia is potty trained so that meant she got to go. She has been SO excited about going to church and hanging out with Brother Sonny.
Yes, she did wear shoes to church but it's almost 80 degrees outside so there was no sense pushing the issue until it was actually time to go!
Charlotte almost fell asleep in my lap this afternoon. She grabbed onto my arm with both hands and leaned her head against my hand until she could barely hold her head up by herself. I can remember Julia doing this same thing. :)
After I dropped Julia off at church Michael, Charlotte and I met Scott and Jessica for dinner at Saki. Charlotte was perfectly behaved the entire time until the we were almost done and she was ready for her bottle. I can't believe she is 4 months old today! There will be a post about that soon!

Ben sent Michael these two pictures of the girls while we were at dinner. They looked like they were having so much fun. There were inflatables set up in the fellowship hall and they ate happy meals in their rooms and made a craft. I'm pretty sure there was a Bible story or two in there also.

Ben's caption said "Future Heartbreakers of Enterprise". I love this picture, they look so happy to be playing together.
All smiles after her fun night at church

The fish tank is ready for water and fish. I think I know where we'll be going tomorrow!

Handprints and Fish Tanks

I was teaching this morning when I looked over at my phone and noticed I had a text message from a number I didn't recognize. When I opened it I was thrilled to see a picture from Ms. Beth of Julia and her friends Avery and Lily with the message "Hey Mom".  I am so glad that Julia has teachers at school who love and care for her like she is their own.
Mom brought the girls to me at school this afternoon and we headed to Dothan to get Charlotte's bronzed handprint and footprint done. We had Julia's done at the same age they are still sitting in our hutch. I hope that once I get Charlotte's back I will finally get them all hung on the wall!

Michael gave me a cute pair of heels for Christmas. I was brave and decided to wear them to work today, but by the end of the day my feet were killing me. The first thing I did when I walked in the door was kick them off and it wasn't long until I heard them coming down the hall after me. Julia had slipped her feet into them and was attempting to walk down the hall. She said "Look at me. I'm wearing your shoes, Mommy."

When we got back from Dothan Michael was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the fish tank. He and Julia were so cute waiting for the UPS (wo)man.
It finally arrived and it was all in one piece this time! Michael unpacked it and set it up while Julia had a ball popping all the bubble wrap and entertaining Sissy.

Once the fish tank was all unpacked Michael and Julia headed out to the pet store to finish getting the supplies to set it up. Can you tell Daddy picked out her outfit? :)
Tomorrow is Michael's day off and I have no doubt they will spend a large portion of their day "playing" with their new fish tank.

Outdoor Fun

I was able to go in a few minutes late this morning and take Julia to school. Before we left the house Julia requested a picture with Julia and me. She was so excited about going back to school and seeing her friends.

When we got home this afternoon Julia asked to play outside. She kicked the ball around, rode her tricycle, rode her tractor and played with Caddy. She *loves* to play outside.

Before we came home this afternoon we went by Enterprise Gymnastics Center and bought Julia her very first leotard. She has been asking for a leotard to wear to gymnastics since this summer. I've always told her that she couldn't wear a leotard with a diaper, but once she got potty trained we would get her one. She is finally potty trained so we went to get a leotard this afternoon. She picked it out all by herself. She wanted one with polka dots and this was the only one in her size with polka dots. She's so excited about wearing it to gymnastics tomorrow!
While we were hanging out outside I took some pictures of Charlotte. I just can't believe how big she's getting!

She still loves to suck her thumb, but we're getting closer to breaking the habit!

Can't you just hear her sweet laugh in this picture?

A Princess Party & Some Sisterly Love

Julia had a birthday party to go to today for Avery. She has been so excited about going to Avery's "princess party" and the excitement doubled when she realized it was at the "cupcake house". Each kid got 3 cupcakes to decorate - 1 to eat at the party and 2 to take home. I'm pretty sure Julia used every "sparkle" (sprinkle) on the table!

Giving the birthday girl hugs

This sweet girl stayed at home with Daddy and napped while Julia and I were at the party. Almost everyone at the party asked where she was though!
When I was changing Charlotte's diaper tonight she was pitching quite the fit. Julia kept saying "Sissy, don't cry. It's OK." When that didn't work she started bringing her her toys and laying them next to her.
I laid Charlotte in her bed while I was straightening up some things in her room. Julia insisted on getting in her bed with her so I put her up there for a few minutes. She took all her toys from her changing table with her and "introduced" them to Sissy. She would say "Sissy, this is your caterpillar" (glo worm) or "This is your turtle."
When I made her get out of the bed she found a book to read Charlotte. She couldn't see her face so she pulled the rocking chair up next to the bed, climbed up and read to Charlotte. She even turned the book around to show her the pictures when she was done reading each page. Charlotte hung on to Julia's every word. They are two sweet girls who love each other!
