Since we didn't have our recovery/clean up day yesterday we've been trying to get it done this afternoon. While we have been cleaning up Julia has been eating dirt...
and helping Minnie draw a picture...
and feeding her baby cereal!
Julia is not a big fan of her high chair anymore so we got this little booster seat at Toys R Us yesterday. As soon as I got it out of the box today she wanted to sit in it so she and Baby Doll ate some cereal while they watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Julia fell asleep on the way to dinner tonight so I ended up holding her in my lap the whole time and Baby Sister wasn't too happy about it! I could feel her kicking away like she was saying "Hey! Get out of my space!"
After dinner went down to the barn to return the tables from Julia's party. When we pulled up she saw one of Bret's tractors and said "Oh goodness! Big tractor!". I said "Yes, that's Mr. Bret's tractor." Julia replied with "No! Not Bwet's! My tractor!". I told Michael she might be disappointed in her little gator now!
This morning started out as a nice, relaxing Sunday to recooperate from our week and weekend, but it turned in to an adventure! We slept in and Julia finally decided to open a few more of her birthday presents this morning.
Since we didn't make it to church, so we decided to go get some breakfast and get Julia a fishing pole for family fishing night at church tonight. Michael had already looked for a Mickey Mouse fishing pole at Wal-Mart and knew they didn't have one so we decided to just run to Dothan to get one. I figured while we were there we should go ahead and get Julia's birthday present.
Today was the first time we have ever taken Julia to Toys R Us and not immediately put her in buggy and she had a ball. She kept going from one thing to the next taking it all in!
We planned to get her a tricycle, but once we got to Toys r Us we realized that the toddler ones were too little (her knees hit the handlebar) and the "big" ones were too big. Michael had wanted to get her a Power Wheel and when she saw them she had a fit so we decided that's what we would get her. I wanted to get a 2 seater since we will soon have 2 little girls, not to mention friends coming over, but Toy R Us didn't have very many. They had several reasonable priced one seaters, but the two seaters they did have were ridiculously priced so we decided to go check at Wal-Mart and Target first.
Checking out the cars at Toys R Us
So we left Toys R Us and went to Target (they didn't have any) and then Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart had a Disney Princess 4 wheeler and a John Deere Gator. I fully expected to walk out with the 4 wheeler, but Julia had a fit when she saw the tractor and when we asked her which one she liked better she said the tractor every time, so we told her we would get her the tractor. While we were standing there I told Michael I would check online to see if anyone had a better price on it (it was still more than we wanted to spend) and found out that Academy Sports had it on clearance since it was a special Christmas item for them. I called the Montgomery Academy and they said they had one in stock. We had made plans to go see Baby Stella so we decided we would go there first and then decide if we wanted to go to Montgomery today or not.
Julia loved Baby Stella and even wanted to hold her. She did get a little jealous when I was holding her, but luckily she was easily distracted. We'll see how easily distracted she is in September!
She thought Stella's bouncy was very entertaining!
After our visit with Jason & Megan we decided that we would go ahead and go to Montgomery, which meant we would miss family fishing night, the reason for our trip to Dothan in the first place! We got to Montgomery and found the gator. They only had one and it was the display, but that meant that Michael didn't have to put it together. They got it off the shelf and Julia hopped right in. When the guy was getting it down she kept saying "A tractor! A tractor! I so cited Mommy! A tractor!" I told Michael then that there was no way we could back out now, the girl had to have a tractor! The battery wasn't charged so she kept saying "Where the key" and looking for the key.
Unfortunately, they couldn't find the charger for it so that meant we couldn't buy it and it was the only one they had left! They called the Auburn Academy and said they had 3 in stock so, off to Auburn we went!
Proud of her new tractor
We got to Auburn, got the tractor and were on our way. Once we got to the car we quickly realized that the box wouldn't go in the car! Garrett's roommate, Harry, works at Academy and was working Sunday so we called Garrett and made arrangements for Harry to take the gator back to the trailer in his truck and Garrett was going to bring it home this weekend, unfortunately Harry was on break and we couldn't find him, so we did the only other thing we could think of. We took the gator out of the box and crammed it in the car!
Once we got the gator all settled in the car we went to meet Amanda and Garrett for dinner at Acupolco's before heading back to Enterprise. Julia fell asleep on the way to dinner holding onto her tractor tire!
We had a full car!

We made it home about 8:00 and Julia went straight to bed. So much for our relaxing Saturday, but Julia has her very own tractor now!
I finally got my hands on Little Stella tonight! Michael and I went by the hospital while we were in Dothan getting the food for Julia's party. We dropped Julia off to play with Betsy while we made a quick trip to Dothan, only once we got to Dothan we realized that I had left my purse at home and Michael didn't have his wallet (it got washed earlier this week so he's just been carrying his essentials in his pocket, but forgot to get them when he changed pants). Luckily there was a random credit card in the car so we were able to at least get the food we came after!
Carie sent me this picture of the girls eating dinner, they both look so big sitting at the table! She also sent me a precious video of them chasing a frog and a baby turtle, but I couldn't get it to transfer to my computer.
We got back from Dothan about 8:30 and have been in party prep mode since then. Meghan & Jonathon got here about 10:00. Unfortunately there was a little accident with the cake (it had cute Mickey ears on top of it, but they were too heavy and pulled the back part of the cake off on the ride down). Luckily though Grandi was here (along with Granddad & Nonny) and was able to make it presentable again!
Now it's time to get some rest for the big party tomorrow!
After spending most of Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the hospital with Megan tonight party planning and cleaning was in full swing! We got most everything cleaned up and finished lots of little projects for the party. While Michael and I did that Julia entertained herself playing in her kitchen and watching Disney Junior. It's so nice to have a 24 hour Disney Junior channel now!
Flying like Tinkerbell & Jake
Mom also treated Julia to get second pedicure today so her Mickey toes are all ready for Saturday! Now it's time for me to get to bed, Michael has tomorrow off so he's still working away!
Welcome to the world Stella Grey! Stella was born at 5:53p.m. via c-section and weighed 4 pounds 11 ounces and is 19 inches long. We're so excited for Megan & Jason! Megan texted me about 2:45 and said that they were going to do a c-section in a few hours so as soon as school was out I grabbed Michael and we headed to Dothan!
Waiting on the doctor
Stella Grey
A proud daddy giving his baby girl her first bottle
Amber, Michael, & I went to dinner at Chili's while they got Megan and Stella settled. When we got back they were just bringing Stella to Megan so we decided to let them have some time to themselves, but I can't wait to get back Friday and get my hands on her!
When we got home tonight Julia was in comedian mode! She kept saying "Mommy, I take your picture!" or "Mommy, say cheese!" while holding her Mickey camera backwards up to her eye. I think she is the only 2 year old who holds the camera up to her eye to take a picture because I still use the viewfinder on my camera!
When I was trying to get her to go to bed she was using every stall tactic she could think of. She sang "Jesus Loves Me" and hid under the covers. She would put her head under the covers and say "Where's Mama? Mama, where are you?" and throw the covers back and say "There you are!"
Julia got her first 2nd birthday present tonight. A big sister bow, a ladybug bow, and a baby chick bow from Mrs. Katelyn, Mr. Matthew & Kollier. When I picked her up from Nana and Pops she didn't want to leave. When I told her I had a present for her in the car she ran to give Nana and Pop a hug and said "I ready"! The first thing she did when we got out of the car at home was ask for her present! I don't think we'll have any trouble getting her to open her presents this year!
We are so excited about having 2 little girls! We had our ultrasound today and everything looked great. I think Baby Girl was trying to throw us off though because her heart rate went from being in the 170's at the past 2 appointments to 143 today. I've gained a total of 8 pounds so far, which Dr. Pollard says is right on track.
And with perfect timing, Julia got a happy in the mail today from Ellen. It is the cutest Big Sister book and a pair of polka dot sunglasses which Julia insisted on immediately opening and putting on even though it was 8:30 pm when she opened them! Thanks Ellen!
This is what our house looks like right now. Between our busy schedules, birthday party preparations, and trying to clean out and rearrange to make room for the new baby our house seems to be in a constant state of chaos! I know it will be so worth it, but I'm ready to have our house back to "normal"!
Maybe the title of this post should be "Playing in the Mud"! Julia and I met Maribeth, Grayson, Katie, and Joshua at the strawberry patch this afternoon. Unforuntely it was a little muddy from the rain we got Thursday and of course Julia ran straight to the mud in her white pants! I had to laugh because the boys didn't even seem to notice the mud, but Julia went straight for it! We didn't pick very many strawberries, but we had fun with friends.
I think this trip was more about the photo opportunities than actually picking strawberries. :)
Julia loved Grayson!
When we got back from the strawberry patch Julia immediately spotted a bug and insisted on laying down on the ground and watching it. This seems to be one of her new favorite hobbies lately.
Of course it didn't take long until she spotted a helicopter and was off chasing it~
She chased the helicopter to the end of the driveway and then she spotted the swing in the yard across the street. She almost always askes to go to the swing when we're outside so we walked across the street to let her swing for a minute (the house is currently empty, so we didn't have to worry about the neighbors coming home and catching us on their swing!).
waving to the cars
Julia's feet were still covered in mud from the strawberry patch so before I would let her in the house we took the water hose and sprayed off her feet and shoes. She thought it was the funniest thing that had ever happened to her! When Michael would stop she would say "my turn".
After a yummy dinner at Myori's Julia's pants are now soaking and Julia is resting up for her egg hunt tomorrow!
