Easter Egg Hunt & Party

I was lucky enough to be able to sneak out of school for a few minutes to go Julia's Easter egg hunt & party today. I got there right as they were lining up to go hunt their eggs. By the time we walked down to the sunken garden it had started raining, so some of the moms ran out in the rain to collect the eggs and rehid them in another room. Of course by the time they gathered the eggs and rehid them it had stopped raining! Most of the kids were more interested in playing with the "new" toys than they were in hunting the eggs, but most of them got the hang of it! Julia has at least one more egg hunt on Saturday, so she should be ready to hunt by then!

Trying to get the candy out - it didn't take them long to figure out what was inside!
Checking the sink for eggs
Of course their favorite part was the food! They were all begging for food like they had never been fed!
Poor Lily just wanted a cupcake! No worries, her mommy got her one and she enjoyed it! :)

Mrs. Sue and Mrs. Janene said Julia has loved this bunny this week. They also both commented on verbal she is and said that her new thing this week has been "It's my turn" or "It's Peyton/Lily/etc.'s turn". I guess she must have heard us say it wasn't her turn or that she had to wait for her turn a time or two at Disney!

This afternoon Julia watched a Mickey Mouse sing-a-long DVD that my mom got her. She was glued to it. It had the characters dressed up like we saw at Disney so I think she enjoyed seeing them. She could pick out almost all of the characters, even ones that I don't think she has had much exposure to like Ariel and Chip and Dale.

We are out of school tomorrow for Good Friday! I'm hoping to get started on some birthday party preparations and dye Easter eggs!
