Out with the Adenoids!

We were up bright and early this morning to head to the surgery center to have Julia's adenoids out. For a girl who usually asks for milk and a snack before her feet hit the floor she did pretty good without having either one. We had to wait a fair about of time before we were called back, but she watched Disney Junior on my phone and played with a few of the toys in the waiting room.
Waiting to be called back

Once they called us back it didn't take to long before they were taking her to the operating room. They gave her something to relax her so she wouldn't freak out when they took her out of the room. She had something similar when she had her tear duct unclogged at 11 months old and once again it resulted in a funny Julia. She just kept smiling and giggling!

Mrs. Debbie Center was our nurse and when she took Julia she said Dr. Mike would be in in a few minutes to talk to us. About 10 minutes passed before he came in and when he walked in he said "She did great. She's in recovery now." We didn't realize they had even started yet. I knew they said it would be fast, but I didn't know it would be that fast!

Between Dr. Mike leaving and Julia coming back to the room Ben came to check on her. Once she got back to the room they gave us discharge instructions and her prescriptions and told us we could go. They tried to give her some Loratab, but she didn't want to take it so they said we could go ahead and leave without her taking it. We got her prescriptions filled and headed home.
We got home around 8:30 and Julia slept until about 11:30. When she woke up from her nap she was back to her normal self. She isn't quite as spunky as usual, but other than that you would have no idea that she had surgery this morning. She never complained of pain or acted like she was in pain, so we didn't give her any pain medicine.

We even went over to Nana and Pop's for a little while this afternoon and went out to eat tonight. Bence's wedding is tomorrow night in Birmingham, so I'm hoping she continues to feel good so we can go!
Before dinner
She was fascinated with the bull at Santa Fe tonight!
